5.5 DEATH AND DYING

(See HELP GRACE, HELP IMMOLATION, HELP RESURRECTION)

Death is not permanent. It causes you to lose some experience, but not too
much.

When you die, you will immediately lose a small portion of your total
experience and your mana will begin to drain away. It takes great mental effort to remain present as a soul, and when your mana is expended you will be forced to embrace death, whether you are prepared for it or not.

Those at or under level 10 are protected from death by the blessing of the
Gods. Should they die, they'll be transported to the Ring of Portals and cured
of their ailments.

Coming Back
-----------
Return to life in one of three ways:
1) EMBRACE DEATH,
2) Immolation in the Flame of Yggdrasil, and
3) Resurrection

The simplest is embracing death. Just EMBRACE DEATH and you'll begin the rather
tedious process of facing Ugrach, the Finality and returning to life. Once you
return to life, you will find yourself in a place called "Outside the Cave."

Immolation requires that someone bring your dead body to the Flame of Yggdrasil,
and is close to instantaneous.

Resurrection, if possible, is also close to instantaneous.

Grace
-----
After you have died and embraced death, you will be "walking in the grace
of the Gods". See HELP GRACE for more details.
