6.15 BANKING AND BANKS

Keeping your valuable golden sovereigns in your hands is not always the wisest
course of action. While leaving the realms will not cause you to lose the gold
in your hands (see HELP GOLD), there are other ways in which gold may be lost.
Certain abilities possessed by adventurers may force you to hand over gold, and
dying will cause you to drop it as well. Keeping your gold in a backpack is
certainly safer, but for true safety, the place to keep your gold is in a bank.

You may also donate credits to a city or House at a bank.

In order to use a bank, you must first find a branch of a bank. Banks can be
found in each of the major cities: Ashtan, Hashan, Cyrene, Mhaldor, Targossas,
and Eleusis. You can also find a bank in the southeast of the island of Delos.
Once there, you may DEPOSIT <however many golden sovereigns>, provided you are
holding that many in your hands. WITHDRAW <amount of gold> will withdraw gold
from your account. For other options, check the Commands section below.

To provide an optional reason on deposits and transfers, you must be working
with an amount greater than 1000 gold sovereigns otherwise the clerk will not
make any such log recording (though the transfer/deposit will still be made).


Fees
----
Banks will exact a 0.5% (2% for Delos) withdrawal fee every time you withdraw
or transfer gold. The fee will always be at least 1 gold.


Multiple Accounts
-----------------
If you have wealth rivaling Prospero, you may have spread your accounts among
various banks. BANKACCOUNTS will show you a listing of your various accounts,
as well as how much gold you have in them. These are all separate accounts, and
have nothing to do with each other.


Personal Banking Commands
-------------------------
BANKACCOUNTS
   Displays the current amounts you have deposited in the various banks.

BANK TRANSFER <amount> GOLD TO <person> <bank>
   Stand in the bank where your gold is. Moves money between your two
   accounts. E.g. BANK TRANSFER 1000 GOLD TO ELENTARI HASHAN.

BANK TRANSFER <amount> GOLD <organisation> <bank>
   Stand in the bank where your gold is. Moves money between the two
   accounts. E.g. BANK TRANSFER 1000 GOLD CIJ ASHTAN.

DEPOSIT <amount> GOLD
   Deposits the amount specified into your bank account.

DEPOSIT <amount> GOLD TO person
   Deposits the amount into someone else's bank account.

DEPOSIT <amount> GOLD|CREDITS <organisation> <optional reason>
   Deposits the amount of gold into the account of the
   city/house/order/clan etc.

WITHDRAW <amount>
   Withdraws the amount of gold specified from your account.
   Minus the 0.5% withdrawal fee.

WITHDRAW <amount> <organisation> <position> [reason]
   Withdraws the amount of gold specified from the account of the
   house/order/clan etc minus the 0.5% withdrawal fee.

BANKFEES <amount>
   Gives an approximate amount for the fee associated with 
   withdrawing the specified amount from your bank account.
   NOTE: This is an approximate only.
