Greetings Good Sir,

In regards to public post number 9976, you might wish to make it a
little less painfully obvious that Oakstone's main goal is no longer the
protection of the forest (I make the assumption that it was at some
point), but the protection of the very questionable authority which
Oakstone has over the forests. When you use the forest to harm people
who have done no wrong to the actual forest (I can't remember the last
time attacking Calhoun caused every tree in Sapience to burst into
flames), you demonstrate that you allow far too much personal sway into
the official decisions of your office.

I mean, perhaps if Serthest had actually put up the wormhole... but then
even if he did, I also cannot recall the last time the creation of a
wormhole backfired and caused parts of the forests to be damaged in any
way. Such things as shrines, totems, and wormholes have never actually
done harm to the forests. Perhaps if you took two totems and rubbed them
together quickly enough you could start a brush fire. But let's be
serious, they only harm your ability to control and dictate what happens
inside of the forest.

And if Oakstone's role with regards to the forest has changed from that
of the protector to the dictator... well to me it seems as though it
has. Worm holes don't hinder patrols of the forests in any way, nor do
they hinder members of Oakstone protecting the forests. I guess if
someone tripped over one somehow... One time I stubbed my toe really
badly on a shrine, but other than that totems and shrines don't really
prevent the protection of the forest. On second thought (and not a
sarcastic one either), a person who is trying to harm the forest could
hide from Forest Defenders in a location with a personal totem. But
then, I don't suppose such a thing happens often, because the hiding
person is just a quick grove summon away from either walking out of the
totem room willingly or being pulled out. The same with Shrines,
effectively. Shrines offer a wider range of coverage for them, but they
can hardly do anything against the forest and keep moving enough to
avoid a grove summon anyway, so claiming them as a threat to the forest
or it's protection isn't that correct either.

I guess my whole point is this: Oakstone is there for the protection of
the forests. The forests are not there for the protection of Oakstone.
If someone does something to harm the forests, then call upon the
natural defences of the forest to harm that person. But if someone only
does something to hurt the feelings of Oakstone or doesn't do everything
Oakstone dictates (as long as the person damages the forest in no way),
then frankly, suck it up. Or bring your wrath down upon them. But if you
call upon Nature's wrath while Nature is not harmed or significantly
threatened, then you abuse the great gift you were given and prove
yourself unworthy of it

Respectfully,
Timothy
