My former Archon,
You must be confused. Towards the end of your post you called Shallam
all the things that Ashtan is. True, they may have the same problems,
and similarites but you spoke as if Ashtan was nothing like that.
Recently I was revoked citizenship of Ashtan for my affiliation with the
Maldaathi, and/or Sartan. But how could I be punished for such as by
your words you say, "Ashtan welcomes all." Ashtan is free. Ashtan
accepts all who are Evil, Dark, Chaotic, Good, Righteous. Ashtan
welcomes any guild, any order, any clan. All it asks for is loyalty. How
you define loyalty is a personal matter. So, if you want to call people
hyprocites then rid of it amongst yourself before you throw the
mud--least you look like one yourselves.
You can argue that I was not loyal to Ashtan. You can argue that I have
shown distaste for the city. You can argue that I am a traitor to Ashtan
with no loyalty. Hell, you can argue that I can fly. But there is no
argument that I have ever harmed Ashtan. Nothing I did was against any
laws. It might have been immoral for the likes of some citizens, but
that is not my problem. You branded me a traitor for my affiliation with
a guild, clan, and order. But Ashtan is free, no? You, as an Archon of
the people, posted of such delicacies that can be found within Ashtan.
Is this just a sugar topping so the world can't chastise the city for
being just as sterotypically biased as the rest of the cities? What you
fed the people of Sapience was something you would not want to eat
yourself.
So what were the reasons of me being uncitizened? According to
Silverstorm, it couldn't have been because of the path in life I had
chosen. Could it have been because I spoke out against many things, and
spoke badly about many, if not every, citizen? No. That can't be it,
either. According to Silverstorm, Ashtan citizens are "free" to speak
their mind. They are free to protest and free to show their lack of
support. So what have I done wrong? Nothing, except anger the chain of
command. How is this freedom? I can be free as long as I don't talk
badly about it's goverment?
I lived my life as I pleased. I forged and followed the path I chose. I
lifted no finger in direct harm of the city. I lended out my extremely
nominal loyalty. I did everything they have asked of me to be free. And
how free was I? I spoke my mind, and out I went. They can sugar coat the
shit all they want, but it still smells.
The point here being is there is absolutely no city of the free. How can
a city be free, but still profile me and brand me a traitor for my
affiliation a with non-hostile nuetral organization? It can't. How can a
city be free yet neglect Vastar the seat of Patron? The only city that
is truly and simply defined, with no controversies, is Mhaldor, the City
of Evil.
The posts about freedom is nothing but biased opinions created by the
foolish to blind the ignorant. Don't be fooled by Ashtan. They are just
as restrictive as Cyrene. Don't be apart of anything that Ashtan
disapproves of, least you might be revoked of your freedom. It's just
one of those things. According to Saruman, Shallam has 19 primary laws,
plus tons of additions. Ashtan has 9, plus hundreds of 'unwritten,
secretive' laws that he conviently forgot to mention. Ignore all the
following posts made by Ashtan trying to redeem themselves as a city of
Freedom. If it was half free, I wouldn't have been cast out for being
Maldaathi. Freedom in Ashtan is as unsecure as half a million gold in my
hands. It's liable to be used up extremely quickly. Choose wisely which
city you wish to join. No matter where you go there will be biased
opinions, hatred, and double-crossing. Simplicity is always a required
virtue in running a -real- city. If a city is more simple and straight
forward than Mhaldor, correct me, and I'll become a citizen there
instead.
If you want a city that doesn't fling poo-covered sugar, talk to me
about Mhaldor. You will be amazed at the perfection the city is founded
on, and how incompetent the other four cities are, garunteed.
