Freedom vs. Stupidity

When I hear "Things in Ashtan are going wrong, the ruling council is a
bunch of idiot, and everything needs to be changed' on the boards of
Ashtan, I accept it. I may hate it, but I'll accept it. When I see
"Ashtan needs to burn", I take THAT as treason. When an organization
declares open war on Ashtan - more open than the Church itself has in
decades - when demons and monsters invade the city, along with said
organization, when later these people reform and state that they hold
absolutely no loyalty to anything but Lord Sartan, and would raze Ashtan
down at the merest word - how the hell can you even speak of loyalty??
Yes, you were a member of said organization. Set, very specifically, on
eradicating Ashtan. Don't give me the BS. You first of all lied to the
city about being a member of the guild. You tried to deceive us into
placing greater trust in you. I'm not sure how many of the plots we
received word on daily were actually true. But were we to take a single
one seriously, you would have been executed with greater pomp than
Dacian ever was.
You were given more leniency than I personally could ever allow an
obvious traitor. But this is a great lead-in for Ashtan's recent
decision, so stuff your rage for a moment and try to recognize that
fairness and freedom isn't always doing what's good for you.

In light of the recent events, and the traitorous, disloyal acts by the
former Infernals/current Maaldaathi against the city of Ashtan, no
Maaldaathi is to be granted citizenship UNTIL he/she has served the
proper term Ashtan requires for treason and paid the fine needed to be
unenemied. Upon regaining ally status to Ashtan, they must further wait
five Achaean years. If in this time no aggression is shown towards the
citystate of Ashtan, they will once more be welcome within our walls.
However, those Maldaathi who did not participate in the war against
Ashtan by virtue of being too young to have done so, are welcome within
the city. We will not outcast these new citizens due to the actions of
their elders.
They will be granted all the rights and priviledges of any other
citizen, as is Ashtan law and way.
I hope this clears things up for you, Amitation.
