I sit amongst the branches of a tall and musky cedar tree and ponder
upon true compassion.

When a friend or loved one is in pain, is it compassion that leads us to
feel their hurts, and offer comfort? Aye, that is compassion, but of a
very weak and mild variety. How hard is it, to offer help to a friend?

What then is the strong and true compassion? Where do you see the test?
When someone who has caused you pain suffers, and you lend a hand, lend
a shoulder to cry on, offer an ear for sympathy... that is a true test
of compassion. When we can overlook our own hurts, even overlook the
-cause- of our own hurts to offer comfort, that is what takes strength.

May Tarah help us all to know true compassion.
