The Chrysalis Basilica's stance on Chaos

I find it interesting that since Pentharian and the Church have so
adamantly (and at extraordinary length) stated that there is no need to
make public the Church's policy on Chaos as doing so would "clutter up
the public boards with a post on something that is already well known",
he now goes out of his way to post the Church's stance on Chaos, a
stance which nobody has ever heard of. Indeed, the stance's basic
premise is so far out in left field as to make it utterly ridiculous.
While cosmology may provoke fascinating philosophical debates, its many
manifest mysteries are beyond ken and understanding of all save the
Logos. And I suspect Sarapis, as Ayar before, chooses not to reveal
these mysteries for reasons of His alone, perhaps not the least of which
is the simple need for the ultimate mysteries to remain just
that--Mysteries (not to mention putting philosophers out of work). I,
perhaps more than most, enjoy debating the Mysteries but this is neither
the time nor place. In any event, Pentharian, not only uses the inherent
fuzziness of the Mysteries to create the rather flawed case of turning
Chaos into the bane of creation, but comes dangerously close to leading
the Church on the pointless mission of acting as the protectors of
Creation. Indeed, this flies in the face of the words of the Logos when
He said in reference to the possibility of Chaos threatening Creation in
these modern times, "The Gods do not need the Church to battle Chaos."
Simply put, unless the Garden has abdicated its power in favor of the
Church and no one told Me, it is the mandate of the Garden to protect
Creation, not mortals. I might add that any one realm of the Gods may
threaten existence if taken to ultimate extremes. Using Pentharian's
logic (if you can call it that), the Church should stand against
Lorielan for if her self-proclaimed realm of knowledge were to triumph
over all others, "changing Creation into a reflection of itself - not
only unhindered, but praised", then every being would know
everything-past, present, future-and thus sap the cornerstone of free
will and reason for existence (there would be no will to live or reason
to live without the unknown future). But then, if Lorielan threatens
existence as she did in the past, it would be the Gods who would then
rise up to stop her, certainly not the Church or any group of mortals.
When Pentharian states that My birth "once again brought about a threat
to Creation itself", he insults not only myself but also Sarapis who
would surely not allow "a threat to Creation itself" to exist. When
Pentharian infers that, because My beginnings emanated from the
Unnamable, I am some kind of abomination, he insults not only Myself but
all humans, whose existence also emanates from the Unnamable. Indeed,
Pentharian insults all of Sapience with his transparent intent to
manipulate everyone into thinking I somehow have a "mission of changing
Creation into a reflection of [Her]self".
The fact of the matter is that I am not the Unnamable. Neither am I
Servelan. Neither am I Entropy or Discord. I am Eris, Goddess of Chaos,
whose awakening carved a new niche for Chaos in the land, one that
strives to awaken the inner creativity given birth by Chaos, that
nurtures the seed of innovation and evolution within all that is Chaos,
and that teaches the philosophy of esoteric Chaos for all those with
ears to hear.
Pentharian, you are simply a judgmental and prejudicial god. You
"pre-judge" Me based on your own stereotypical views of Chaos biased by
a historical chaos that was simply before my time, not on what the Chaos
as I teach it is. You cannot know My mind and neither will I pretend to
know what your mind holds. I hope your prejudice will not lead the
Church to repeat its ancient dark period of the Burning Times when so
many Occultists perished and much great knowledge was lost.
To the rest of the Church, I wish to thank those members who went out of
their way to send Me kind words of approval and encouraging Me to
continue to try and heal the rift between Church and Chaos. One member
of the Church, who shall remain anonymous, perhaps summed up the
situation when he wrote to Me, "The leadership of the Church does not
want its membership to be free. It does not want free thoughts or deeds.
. . . You embody that outside influence. Ergo, the Church opposes You
and Your teachings." I urge the leaders of the Church to put aside the
prejudice taught by Pentharian and open your hearts to accepting, or at
least tolerating, that which you may not understand.
