The Church's Stance on Chaos

Lady Eris, though I applaud your attempts to open the minds of the
Church, I unfortunately believe you are forging a losing battle. The
Codex teaches that "Good" is absolute. That there are no different forms
of Good only one form. While this was meant to teach that those who take
up the cause of "Good" should not try to use loopholes and half truths
to make whatever crusade they are on for the cause of good when in fact
it may not be, the sad and wildly ironic fact is that this one rule has
been abused for that very purpose. The Church seems to believe that It's
belief is the only "Good" and that anything that is not of their belief
must therefore be bad. Instead of looking for good in all things, they
tend to look for what is evil or dark or just plain bad in groups,
organizations, orders, and cities. Hashan for instance is completly
occupied by followers of Twilight who are all zombies to His
mechanations. We are all dark. We are all evil. I understand that this
will come to quite a shock to Madena, a loyal follower of Caspian and
one of the leading advocates for the Divine Alliance which fought to
keep Evil at bay (Say, isn't that the Church's job?) but in fact she was
just a puppet all along to Lord Twilight. I'm also sure this comes as a
great shock to Ladies Valnurana and Ourania as They can go ahead and
turn their Orders over to Lord Twilight since He is running the show
already. No use in Their continued existence. Seem silly? Your right, it
is. The Church is extremely quick to point out the evil in all other
organizations. The threat that they are to Sapience. But yet they seem
to have a blind eye to their own transgressions. Where exactly was the
church when the Shrine Wars were going on? Wasn't that Evil running
loose? I'd bring up the Shallam/Hashan war but that horse is already
quite dead.
Ultimate Chaos is bad. We all agree. But Ultimate Law is as well. When
you place so many restrictions upon what is Good then you defeat the
purpose of Good itself. Eris is the Goddess of Chaos. But She is not
complete Chaos. A God by its very definition is Order over Their
particular Ethos. I was there when Eris healed Valnurana. I saw Her do
as much for Her as She could. I saw Her frustration at not being able to
use Her powers to heal any more of the damage for fear of infusing Her
with too much Chaos. I saw Her anger over what Sartan had done. This is
not mindless Chaos. These actions were deliberate, well thought out, and
for the betterment of Sapience. To continue to see Chaos as the enemy
and not see the potential for growth throws you towards Law and
stagnation. Chaos is indeed where new ideas are spawned. Some are for
Good and some are for Evil. But to label Chaos as an opponent of Good is
just plain silly.
Quit excluding everyone and try including people for once.
