An Observation

In my reading of so many public posts, something has come to my
attention. So many people, some mortal, some not, tend to make the same
type of mistake in an arguement. Perhaps I can shine some light, and
remedy this situation.
Of course, I shall do my best to make sure all of you can get this
It's called a Logical Fallacy, and it means that you're arguing with
something that should have no bearing on the subject matter whatsoever.
For example, when you relate things that shouldn't be related:
I hate Jesters, ergo, everyone must hate Jesters.
But this isn't the point. Mainly, I wish to settle on one specific sort
of fallacy. It's sometimes called "Ad homos". (Personally, I prefer to
call it "Ad humus"). It means, instead of arguing the subject matter, or
presenting your point of view, you take the arguement to the person.
Violet must be wrong, she didn't act the part of a Druid, ergo, I'll
blow off her post.
or
Violet is correct, but I shall insult her instead of seeing the point!
Violet smells!
Hopefully I can help some of you, and recall, by no means do I intend to
imply all of you needed the help.
