I read over the past few posts on this whole matter that surrounds Omny
and I can't help but get this odd feeling of deja vu. Here we have
someone who has broken laws...though they are not your own as they took
place in another town...and instead of following the chain of command,
giving all of the facts to the town's leadership and then seeing what
they do to bring justice to a situation, you skim over a few details,
declare that they do not follow any laws, and refuse to even discuss the
matter further. Even sanctioning the town to get your point across. Tell
me, does Shallam think it has the monopoly on justice these days? Tell
you what. Why don't we apply the Shallamite code to Omny. We'll invite
Eris down for a trial. We'll have Her pass judgement. Then we'll have
the Ashtan Council argue for years over the validity of the penalty.
Then we'll slap him on the wrist and tell him never to do it again. And
since Ashtan handled it, why then we should all just nod sagely and say
problem solved.
Please. Before you go pointing fingers at the way someone else runs
their city, take a good hard look at yours. And do learn to negotiate.
Its a trait that is sorely lacking amongst your leadership. You are no
where near powerful enough to waltz into a room and declare that this is
the way its going to be. You contact Ashtan leadership. You explain the
entire story...leaving out small details like murder tends to minimize
what really happened...and then you let their system work. If after that
happens you are not satisfied, then you can scream bloody murder. But
you can't really expect a city to change to suit your goals. I would
have thought this whole unfortunate war caused by your previous
administration would have taught you that. Apparently countless
Shallamite lives being lost proved a very poor lesson.
And yes I know the matter is supposed to be a Sentinel matter. However
the line blurs quite frequently in cases that Covenant is involved in.
So you will forgive those of us in the world that have trouble
identifying one hat that he wears from the other.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Chronos, in the year 298 AF.
