Mephisto,
All this mudslinging about Covenant being up Shallam's rear end really
does annoy me. It annoys me because Covenant was like me. Like me,
Covenant quite liked Ashtan and even wanted the Sentinels to be allies
with Ashtan. We even set up a deal with Ashtan to sell cheap herbs and
become a form of Sister/City (Eleusis).
Some might say we Sentinels broke all of the treaties and stuff, but not
once did we ever break our word. Ashtan just agreed to treaties without
consulting citizens. and hence it was Ashtan that broke -their- word.
Time and time again, Ashtan has been at the forefront of problems for
Sentinels and the forest.
This longstanding duplicity and hostility drove people like myself and
Covenant to Shallam. Drove us to dislike Ashtan. And you insult us about
that? Congratulations.
A few points about the things being discussed.
When someone sees fit to spend 1000 gold saying that the ban doesn't
bother them, while throwing insults our way, it says that it DOES bother
them. That's ONE person...not several with different opinions, but ONE
person.
Shallam has nothing to do with this whole deal. The Sentinels guild as a
whole is leary of Ashtan because of the hostility and broken treaties
we've had at the hands of Ashtan over the past 4 decades. We have at
least as much if not more reason to hate Ashtan than Shallam does -
because at least Shallam is supposed to be opposed by you. We just
wanted us and our forest to be left alone.
