Yeah, its me again. Get over it.
I have to admit that Darknight's post in 9025 has been rattling around
in my head since I read it. Specifically this part:
"First, I will make very clear to you that Hashan and Shallam would
never work together. You are dark, you are liars, and we do not wish the
likes of you amongst us, for we are truthful, honest, and honourable."

Now several things come to mind. First of course is of course the irony
of this being said by someone named "Darknight". Second of course is
calling an entire town this, and then reversing field when he finds out
that there are guilds in Hashan that he doesn't want to offend. My
favorite was the one who he issued an join Shallam or be enemied demand
to. The person in question told him to take a hike. So he enemies the
person. Then finds out the person holds a guild position in a guild that
does not have a home in Hashan. And the person is quite willing now to
post his demands to their guild. Apparently we aren't so dark and evil
then because the person was immediately unenemied. My what convection.
Darkness is not evil. Darkness is not good. It simply is. When you
strole out under a moonlit nightsky and gaze with your lover at the
majesty of the heavens...that is darkness. When you hear a bump in the
night and your heart quickens at the unknown....that is darkness. To
call it one or the other is ignorant.
You, my nearsighted friend, are what is wrong with Shallam. You have
become so xenophobic to other beliefs, so full of your own zealousness
that you have lost sight of what the goal of your city is. To promote
good. Destroy evil. A little hint. You don't do that be alienating
everyone on the planet and declaring yourselves alone in the battle.
Thats the quickest way to get destroyed.
And please, don't talk to me about honor. I've seen so many of your
citizens abusing grace that I'm convinced that your city thinks to walk
gracefully is to go get killed by Andelas and then go smile at him while
graced. And Stee is the worst. Charlotte I can understand. But Stee?
Gimme a break. Don't talk big, whine about grace, then use it to your
advantage.
And don't EVEN get me started on oaths. Hashan has tried to be very nice
and offer a nice and honorable way out for citizens of Shallam. Swear to
defend only within the city walls and not to get involved in any other
actions and we'll unenemy you and leave you alone. I think Sinafey holds
the record for breaking it the quickest. But roughly 75% of those who
have taken said oath have broken it. So go stick that in your Codex.
(And yes I know the Codex is not the law of Shallam. But since you guys
are supposed to be good it might help to at least peruse it once in
awhile)
Special shout out to Dresden who has made her triumphant return. And no
longer showing any effects of whatever she claims Varian gave her. Now
suddenly full of righteousness and lawfulness she gets upset at people
killing others for no reason. Hmm. Funny. I don't remember her having
that attitude when she swooped down on Hashan while having some "fun".
Lovely how she can turn the rules of the world on and off when it suits
her. Love ya too Dresden. *smooch*
Now if you are a Shallamite citizen and made it to the end of this
rant...good for you. Here's some advice. Go let a thug kill you. Get
graced. Send a message to a member of the council of Hashan stating you
are not involved in this war. Swear on the Codex that you mean it. Then
think about someone who isn't half crocked in the brain who can run for
office who can end this war for you. My suggestion is try to sweet talk
someone who got disgusted with Shallam and left for another city. They
already show much more intelligence than who is in office now. Well,
except Acratin. And if you get threatened with outguilding by your
leaders remember this, that is a sign of someone who is desperately
trying to hang onto power near the end. Should they outguild you because
you feel in your heart that this war is wrong and being fought for the
wrong reasons then please do remember that when the war is over and get
rid of those people.
So Darky..or DK or whatever you prefer to be called. Certainly not a
Knight. Your little talk about honor and justice is a bunch of crock.
You are a xenophobic hypocrit who uses the fact that you follow good as
an excuse to get away with whatever you feel like. Doesn't wash with me
my friend. And not surprisingly, its not washing with most of the lands.
So go be a good boy and read that Codex a few more times. Might even
peruse that section about neutrals saying you are oppressing them. I
found it enlightening myself when I read over it while contemplating
your remarks. Perhaps you should too.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Scarlatan, in the year 290 AF.
