Greetings.
I would like to make a statement regarding the debate between yourself and Dresden regarding the origin of our races and the labels that are put upon them. Despite the fact I agree with Dresden, that humans are in many ways the children of the Aldar, I must point out that as such we have been given the freedoms of choice, pursuit for knowledge, argumentative debateand the ability to question who we are, and which Gods most fit our perceptions of ourselves.
One would think that the Divine Ones would cast out any creatures seen as somehow sullied or worthless. We live in the lap of luxury, with everything we desire at our fingertips and the ability to roam without restraint, unless we break laws created by ourselves. We may govern ourselves and think and act freely without fear of retribution unless some inherant moral code is broken or the direct orders of an oath are breached.
We gain all of this by the grace of the Gods. They allow us to live as we want, and although the hand of a Divine one can be seen in many situations throghout the land, it's our choice to follow one of another, to offer sacrifices to strengthen our God of choice...and it is our right to defy those beings when it suits our mortal wims. Allbeit we take uponm ourselves the responsibility of possible punishment, but we choose to do this.
I would not call a collective of sapient individuals with fre will and free choice a group of goodfornothing bastards. Why even Lord Sartan, who procalims the uselessness and ridiculousness of such unworty creatures as us, allows us to live as we will. If our use was so little, it is within His great power to destroy every one of us, and yet He lets us into His fold and devises tasks and tests to eke out those who succeed in his eyes.
I would dwell less on the diverse and controversial beginnings of our peoples, and concentrate on our acheivements, our growth and our continuing prosperity. think of what we are, not what we were and give thanks that we are granted this favour of life and will by Those with the power to turn every one of us to dust, or to mindless automatons, enslaved for Their incomprehensible purposes.
Enjoy what you have, and don't scorn what we were, it got us wher we are today.
Yours longwindedly
