((OOC)) Tarah and this thread of posting

First of all, I apologise for the OOC, it doesn't seem appropriate here.
But in order to get across my feelings on these matters, OOC
is an inevitable part of this thread.

It is my personal opinion that I like Tarah- both as Tarah, and her
player, I found her to be a wonderful person. We got along.
I think everyone knows how much my character, Sadie, loves
Tarah. Therefore, I'm obviously biased in some ways, but
I am trying to view this as objectively as possible.

I don't pretend to know the situation, I won't say
Sarapis is wrong, Tarah's right, or Tarah is wrong,
Sarapis is right. What they do, they are held accountable
for it in the context of an occurance. The context of
this occurance was, of course, Achaea. And Achaea
is owned, ruled, created by Sarapis. Thus he has free
reign to do/say as he sees fit. If he wanted to build
"anti-Tarah" shrines throughout the land, he could.
He could make an event of mocking Tarah, he could
dredge up every time he's been wronged, and
implement it into a plotline. But he didn't. He went to
the announce section, generally used for informing the
rest of us about OOC matters. He expressed his
feelings on an OOC occurance in an OOC forum.

The biggest problem I've seen here is the combination
of OOC and IC. Many of you know that Sadie and
Brownwyn had an ongoing catfight, yet I still spoke with
her player regularly and civilly. I have run into more
than a few people who won't speak to me if Sadie and
their character disagree. That's baffling, to say the least.

My point is that I know Tarah is gone, and I even know
some of why she is gone, but Sadie loved her, and it
would be VERY bizarre to just let it drop without allowing
her to express the grief that would be felt. People on this
board keep saying, in so many words, "Let it go, people
leave MUDs, get over it!" But I had thought Achaea was
more than just a MUD. I thought it was a living, breathing
land, given life by all of us- The citizens we know and love,
or hate, depending, the Pantheon, the mythos...

So, to sum up, Sarapis made an OOC comment that
may or may not reflect his IC stance, and a large amount
of well-meaning people jumped on it as though it were
inappropriate. I agree you all have a right to express how
you feel on the matter, but make sure you're not crossing
over lines of IC/OOC. Whether I agree with Sarapis, I don't
see him blurring the lines of RP here.

Just my excessively long two bits.
((Sadie's player))
PS. If you see Sadie being sad, don't tell her to knock it
off, at least pretend you know how to roleplay. Thanks.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Daedalan, in the year 263 AF.
