Public News Post #7298

Cycle of life.

I hate <insert name> for <press 1 for killing you, press 2 for teaming,
press 3 for attacking or killing of a guildmember, press 4 for insults,
and if you would like to review these choices, press 5> and I'm going
to <press 1 for kill person repeatedly, and if you would like to review
these choices, press 2>.

Oh, pardon.

Reflex took over there for a moment. This post is actually about the
Gods and mortals who have left us over the years. I know, I know, this
is the public board, but technically, it can be used to discuss other
things. I'm sure it will be back to insults and threats soon enough.
Anyway, people leave. It happens. I've wandered for many years, and I've
visited many realms, and befriended many people. Made some enemies too
but again, I'm not here to talk about that. I liked Tarah. She made the
time to speak with. That's something even my my guilds own patron was
always too busy to do. Of course, that was Miramar and she's gone as
well now. The point? We never know how much time we'll have with anyone.
Our friends, our enemies, even ourselves. Certainly, we can spend time
on recriminations and blame, and on wistful reminiscence, and anger and
sorrow. In the brief time that I've been here, I've seen many people
leave. Many of whom I had only begun to know and grow fond of. Should
you look upon the list of notables, look for those who have a star
by their names. How many of them remain with us? Does it lessen
them that they are no longer with us? Does it wipe away their many
accomplishments? The friendships they formed? I've seen people leave
and realms collapse. I've even been one of the ones to leave. Knowing
that that may happen, I've found it more important to focus on the
people around us here and now. Who knows how much more time we'll
have together? And should someone leave, I'll be grateful I did so,
and lift a cup in their memory in the presence friends still here.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Daedalan, in the year 263 AF.
