Shrines and Devotion

Listen to the arrogance of the church.
We have the right to follow our beliefs... well yes, of course, who said you didn't? I serve Lupus, love and adore Lupus, but do I bother you with it? No.
Shrines are symbols of our devotion... your devotion is an outrage. You use it to mentally rape other beings. You use it to force your ideals on people. And you use it to kill people. An outrage that the Gods even put up with your abuse of their gifts.
An outrage that the 'benevolent' church has so little respect for life. That those with devotion (in addition to skills that would already make them a match for the rest of us) are granted divine protection as they commit their murders.
I am disgusted and sickened by this arguement, and I am further disgusted and sickened by the Church's lack of understanding of anyone else's point of view and their insistance that their path is the only 'right' one.
The church has a very warped sense of 'good' and 'evil'. Perhaps I can clarify things for you. Good=Self Rightious Evil=Anyone who doesn't agree with you.
The most nefarious criminals in the history of the land serve the church.
And you Caerid! How dare you? This war was declared in an effort to even the stakes between the church and everyone else. You see, the more shrines you have, the better you can abuse everyone who does not agree with you.
You are a pompous fool to think anyone, much less the Sinistar, would consider you important enough to launch a war over you. You're not that pretty.
This is about freedom from injustice. Until I can go a day without a member of the church raping my mind, tearing my soul from my body, using their city defenses to kill my friends, or kidnapping my grovemates for their evil purposes...
I shall hold to my belief that the root of all evil lies in Shallam. We must stop it from spreading before in infects all of Sapience clouding our minds and leaving us senseless zombies in its wake.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Phaestian, in the year 245 AF.
