I offer this, Lady of Knowledge, the fruit of years of observation and exacting calculation, of tedious porings over ponderous tomes, grotesque grimoires, dusty scrolls and many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, of philosophical debate with the greatest minds in Sapience, all to affirm the now undeniable fact that ACHAEA IS FLAT!

Part 1.) A Deliniation of the Axiomatic Truths to be Found in Nature by a Close and Exacting Observation of Same

A.) Consultation and discussion with the Thinkers among the Druid class (those most closely attuned with the forces of Nature and, it is to be expected, most knowledgeable about its inner workings) has revealed certain facts: a Druid in eagle morf has the wonderous ability to see the entirety of Sapience (and indeed, all of Achaea, which will soon be proved beyond all doubt) from the rarified heights that they are able to attain. From the most southerly point in Sapience, the Peshawar delta, said eagle may espy a person roaming the streets of Ashtan far to the north. This is not conclusive in itself, but taken with the other soon to be revealed facts, will no doubt stun the world with the beauty and elegance of the logical facility!

B.) Everyone in the world has observed the dawning of Lady Sol, but none have drawn the obvious conclusion from this Miracle of Nature...dawn occurs all over Sapience AT THE SAME TIME! This fact, coupled with the previous observation, points out most clearly and logically that, if an eagle can see ALL of Sapience and dawn occurs simultaneously over ALL of Sapience, then it follows that Sapience IS and MUST BE flat! Excluding minor variations in altitude, of course...the Vashnars and the Shamtota Gorge, et al.

B-1) Here, it may be argued by some (and indeed, it has) that Achaea need not be flat, but spherical in form (not to discount the possibility of ovate, elliptical or even a rhomboidal construct but, I digress...). The argument being that other parts of the world are unseen due to the fact that they lie 'over the horizon' and hence cannot be directly perceived. A thought which, to my mind, is equated with 'over the rainbow' and other fanciful illusions that carry no weight in scientific discourse or the observable facts. Still, this notion gave me some pause, as I had no ready refutation for it. So, I undertook to avail myself of every source of Lore in the land. Not every source was of material use. The Lore of Trolls was particularly disappointing, ie: 'If i cain't eat it...don' need it'.

Long and frustratingly fruitless was this Herculean labour...entire libraries ransacked...Oracles consulted...sleepless days and nights of astronomical observations undertook to ascertain that which I KNEW to be true but, alas, could not prove. Til one fateful evening when, exhausted and red-eyed with fatigue, the answer appeared before my wondering eyes with stunning force and clarity, and I thrice cursed myself for overlooking the most obvious proof of my Theory yet offered...

C.) All have seen it. All have witnessed it's simple power. Yet none have drawn the inevitable conclusion. The message appears every day and states, simply...Balancing on the RIM OF THE WORLD, Lady Sol...etc (emphasis mine). There is little need to point out that spheres and other semi-circular forms have NO rims, how could they? This is axiomatic and serves to affix the final nail in the Theoretical Construct I call, The Flat Achaea Theory.

In sum, Achaea is flat. There ARE other philosophical implications involved in this knowledge which is beyond the scope of this treatise and which may in some future time be revealed to the wonderment of all in good time. For now, I rest from my labours, having dissolved all ties with Shallam and the Church to pursue my passion for Science. I hope to provide further insights as to the workings of the Cosmos and to parade proudly as Science marches into the 4th Century! Farewell and deep thoughts...Selah.
