Since the start of this I have been clear where I stand, and why. Let any who doubt it travel to Meropis to read it for themselves. What is convenient is how the matters has been brought to Sapience, away from those details in the south.
What was purchased from Delos was a plot advertised to "Build your own home on the Southern Continent!". This is a matter of public record. The result was building a castle on a hill then publicly proclaiming the land for miles all around it also fell within the confines of that personal parcel.
It doesn't matter it was unoccupied, and it wasn't until word reached the Chaghut, so distant from our news missives, that they understood what was underway.
I conveniently leave out nothing, and assuredly there is nothing convenient about this whole ordeal. Any counsul sought from me on the matters of boundaries, to the best of my recollection, came after the announcement had already been made. At which point, I immediately expressed my concerns and sought to scout the boundaries myself. I stated at the time I did not think it would be an issue, but I do not speak for the Chaghut, and they have stated it is. All of this again you already know, as you have read it in the south.
Let us be clear, the Countess with not withdrawl her claim at my request. Such requests and advisement from me was met with ridicule and dismissal. It was only when Lady Maris made the request, that the Countess deigned to agree, in defference to Aster Malik. This, again, is plainly written for anyone to read should they venture south.
I raised no banners for the Chaghut. I called for no allies or assistance. I stated my stance and intention clearly, even as you confided in that tent that your thoughts and will do not exactly align with those of the Countess in all things.
I recognise your need to paint me the aggressor here, but my conscience is clear. Look to holding your own house accountable before attempting to lay blame at the feet of anyone else.
