Knowledge and Clarity

To the critic in search of clarity,
The Cauda Rubra does not claim a monopoly on knowledge. Indeed, we commend its free pursuit in libraries, tales, tomes, and even in the recollections of old gypsies near Delos. Ours is not an attempt to supplant such sources, but to offer research, analysis, guidance, experience, and, where needed, precision.
Knowledge is not made lesser by the act of charging for the labour it demands. A simple question may earn a simple answer freely given; a complex one, however, may require hours, days, or even exhausting expeditions. We do not charge for the question, but for the time, experience, and effort involved in answering it well. Rubra scholars have their own research and studies, and so to request their time in aid of another's enlightenment, at the expense of their own pursuits, is to ask for a service that merits compensation. Such funds contribute not only to the scholars' own needs, but also to the continued expansion of the Ethermere library, thereby providing more books to the public.
As for our credentials, they lie not in pomp, but in results. Those who have worked with the Rubra know both our capacity and the scholarly aptitude of our members. We offer no assurances to those who approach in mockery, but those who come in good faith will find their questions met with diligence and depth.
If you are satisfied with the answers you find elsewhere, then we are pleased. If not, you know where to find us. There is currently a small waiting list, but should you change your mind, we may be able to accommodate you eventually.
Sincerely,
Asmodron Dicondron
