Hello Sapience!

I am coming at you, as the co-host of the CIJ's Garden Gala happening in the year 832 during the month of Sarapin two days after serenade, with a delightful contest. At one point or another, we have all thought about how we wished there were some magic potion or brownie we could eat to make life among the land easier to survive. Of course, that just is not possible for some things, but one could fantasize! That, my friend, is what this contest is all about.

I want you to come up with funny, witty, and/or wholesomely delightful recipes that could help one survive certain situations you may run into during life here. An example recipe:

Tonic for Council Meetings -

Ingredients: Essence of Cactus Weed, Tequila

Instructions: Add 2 parts tequila to 1 part essence of cactus weed in a bottle and shake well. Serve by the shot-full every day until meeting's end.

Note: You will most likely pass out before the meeting ends since they never seem to end!

Guidelines -

1) One submission per person. You may re-submit if you feel you have created a better recipe or made edits to the original.

2) No feedback will be given about your recipe until after the contest has been judged and winners declared.

3) Keep it tasteful. We are all adults here. And the focus of the contest is to get a genuine laugh out of people. Not to gross them out nor purposefully sour someone's mood. Anything submitted that is too naughty or too nuance will be fed to Jaws and a message sent informing you of where you were awry.

Rewards -

Top 40 Submissions: Option to be published in the "official" Recipes for Surviving the Achaean Landscape, Volume 1

Top 10 Submissions: Publicly read at the party for all to enjoy

Third Place: 5 credits and a trophy

Second Place: 10 credits and a trophy

First Place: 25 credits and a trophy

How to Submit -

The letter, of course, should also include your recipe! Please make sure to include your name within the letter contents as well. I know some of you have fancy embossed letters and wax seals but it makes it easier for me to transcribe things in a manner that doesn't run the risk of me accidentally crediting someone else for your work. After all, I get the feeling I am about to be flooded with hundreds of birds from across the land.

Deadline -

Final submissions are due by Serenade on Phaestian of the year 831. That is four months before the Gala!

P.S. -

What's that? You want the details on the CIJ's Garden Gala Ball itself? Well, you're going to have to wait just a BIT longer on that one but don't worry. My lovely co-host, Tilia, and I will make sure you have all the details you need for you to find a date and a lovely dress or suit for the occasion!

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Miraman, in the year 829 AF.
