Hail, Sapience.

Welcome to the seventh month of the Asterian Festival of History.

Consult Public post #20714 for instructions on how to participate. Those who complete at least six months' worth of tasks and/or events will earn a truly unique historical memento; the more months you complete, the more intricate your reward.

Note: You are only required to complete either ONE task or attend ONE event per month to qualify, and you must note this in your journal. You can complete the tasks of previous months that you have missed as well - simply refer to the correct post.

Theme
------
The month of Valnuary is named after Lady Valnurana, the Goddess of Dreams. In times of uncertainty or unease, people have sought answers and looked for clues in dreams. The Dreamrealm has yielded cryptic solutions to events such as the awakening of Lord Pandemonium, and Apollonia, the dream seeress, was instrumental in freeing the last unicorn. Therefore, the theme of this month is: dreams.

Monthly Journal Task
---------------------
Dreams can be a source of inspiration, a manifestation of subconscious thoughts and feelings, a guide to the problems of the waking, a memory of the world that was, or all four combined. They are often experienced at night, when the world slumbers, and so are linked by association to the celestial bodies visible in the darkened heavens.

[Task] When the night falls, head to the Asterian Observatory, located in the Asterian Restoration's estate and accessible via the portal in Thera. Read the scroll there, then LOOK up at the STARS. You can also do so in any outdoor location.

Identify three constellations in the night sky and write down what they represent in your journal, as well as which constellation you prefer. You may use the facilities in the Asterian Observatory to assist you in this endeavour. TOUCH the charts or SHAKE the pouch of stardust to do so. Otherwise, you can also repair the telescope in Valho Coast.

Multiple tomes may be used as reference to identify the constellations, as well, including "Constellations of the Vault" and "Achaean Astronomical Studies", the latter of which can be found in the Hall of Celestial Charts in Thera's Lucretian Athenaeum.

Finally, sleep - wear your endurance down if necessary - until you experience a dream. Write down the details of the dream in your journal, as well as what you believe it signifies.

Events
-------
Bidding for artifacts in the Art and Artifacts auction continues. See AD 171 for the full details.

The Hashan festival showcase begins this month, which will be held in Tasur'ke. It will involve a tour of the Sunderlands with a history lesson about the sundering of Hashan, stargazing and a presentation of the Eternal Night, as well as a discussion on Hashan's perspective on cooperation with the Tsol'teth.

The other event that will be performed this month at the Asterian Observatory is A Tale of Dreams: Awakening of the Divine Child. This will be a storytelling experience where participants will hear the tale of Lord Pandemonium's awakening, and learn how dreams played a significant role in this.

Refer to AD 192 for dates and check UPCOMING as well.

Exhibitions
------------
The Depicting the Past art and artifacts exhibition at the Anchors Acreage in the Shamtota Hills remains open. Directions are found from the Jaru road, and bidding instructions are on the scrolls in the gallery.

The featured item in the Asterian Observatory is a majestic orrery that depicts the universe at a time when the planet Nurazar existed. Nurazar's destruction was the catalyst that led to the introduction of Alchemy to the world. A version of its history can be found in the Hall of Planes in the Lucretian Athenaeum.

The travelling merchant continues to wander the Asterian Restoration grounds. You can travel there easily by TOUCHing the PORTAL at the town centre of New Thera. Ensure you are in perfect health.

The Grand Obsidian Tower in the south of Nimick, an extensive adventurer-run museum with hundreds of relics, remains open for public visits.

Any questions may be directed to myself. Enjoy the Festival.
