Hail, Sapience.

Welcome to the eighth month of the Asterian Festival of History.

Consult Public post #20714 for instructions on how to participate. Those who complete at least six months' worth of tasks and/or events will earn a truly unique historical memento; the more months you complete, the more intricate your reward.

Note: You are only required to complete either ONE task or attend ONE event per month to qualify, and you must note this in your journal. You can complete the tasks of previous months that you have missed as well - simply refer to the correct post.

Theme
------
The month of Lupar is named after Lord Lupus, Wild God of the Beasts. He embodies the spirit of the hunt, and certainly history is familiar with any and all types of hunts. The Wild Hunt is a fixture of midsummer, and the first Divine incursion upon Krenindala was spurred by the hunt for the captive Lord Hermes. Therefore, the theme of this month is: the hunt.

Monthly Journal Task
---------------------
Through history, adventurers have often entertained requests to hunt down foes, for clues to puzzles, or for knowledge in dusty tomes. No matter what type of hunt you choose to embark upon, it will all test the same abilities: your patience, persistence, observantness and endurance.

Complete one (1) of the following tasks:

[Task 1] The hunt is a triumph of predator over prey, but a successful hunter should know their prey well. Find a denizen or creature you have not killed before and answer the following questions in your journal:

- Is the creature or denizen you are hunting significant to anyone or anything?
- What sort of environment do they live in?
- Describe one of their distinctive attacks, as well as the effects (if any).
- Do they have any last words before they are slain, or drop any valuables?

[Task 2] The hunt is not just bloodshed, but about pursuing your goal relentlessly till it is accomplished. Hunters must know their terrain well, and so you must hunt down the aster-shaped glamour hidden in any one (1) of these Meropian locations:

- Seat of Vastar
- Sirocco Fortress
- Battlesite of Mourning Pass (very dangerous)
- The Fluvadha River

Once you find the aster, answer the following questions in your journal:

- What, in your opinion, is the significance of the location to the inhabitants of the area?
- What do you know of the history of the area?
- Describe any item found in the location and its use.

You may reach Meropis using the portal at the town centre of New Thera. Note: Meropis is a more dangerous place than Sapience to wander in. Caution is advised.

Events
-------
Bidding for artifacts in the Art and Artifacts auction continues. See AD 171 for the full details.

The Great Historical Hunt will happen this month, a scavenger-style hunt that will test both your knowledge of history and the land.

Depending on Tharos' availability, world games such as Foozles, bandersnatches and egghunts may occur.

Refer to AD 192 for dates and check UPCOMING as well.

Exhibitions
------------
The Depicting the Past art and artifacts exhibition at the Anchors Acreage in the Shamtota Hills remains open. Directions are found from the Jaru road, and bidding instructions are on the scrolls in the gallery.

The featured item in the greenhouse at the Asterian Restoration are two glass jars that can be used to hunt down and capture insects. You are welcome to take them to different environments and see what insects you can capture by OPENing the jar. Do return them when you are finished.

The travelling merchant continues to wander the Asterian Restoration grounds. You can travel there easily by TOUCHing the PORTAL at the town centre of New Thera. Ensure you are in perfect health.

The Grand Obsidian Tower in the south of Nimick, an extensive adventurer-run museum with hundreds of relics, remains open for public visits.

Any questions may be directed to myself. Enjoy the Festival.
