Discovery of Longclaw Isle

Mariners of Sapience,

While sailing along the chops between the Tears of Sarapis and the island of Zaphar, heading west, I was suddenly overtaken by what I can only describe as a peculiar zone of fog. This strange zone was totally invisible until the moment I was inside it, and greatly limited visibility once I entered. The characteristics of the ocean seem to shift as you move through it, and I presume this is some sort of strange visual trick.

Within this mysterious zone I discovered a fairly sizable new landmass which I shall call Longclaw Isle. You cannot see it until you are right on top of it. There is no harbour, one must drop anchor, lower the rope ladders, and disembark onto the sandbar, if one wishes to explore it.

The island appears to be large but barren, and because one cannot see around ones ship properly while sailing in this mist, it represents a potential new hazard for sea going vessels. The sandbars are not excessive however, and the practical risk of sailing through the area is fairly low. Once on the island itself, there are no denizens, although the beaches are quite lovely. A nice vacation spot perhaps.
