Which is it?

Just two years ago you purportedly lauded me on these same boards for taking Ashtan into a new era of promise rooted in a desire to see conflict thrive above forces you dismissed as 'Sky servants of the Cult.' There were even murmurs of redemption and faith. These strange concepts are foreign to those us who are chosen to dominate the Prime not through the hand of Others, but through Chaos and the sheer determination of ourselves.

Now you creep out of obscurity to come before the populace of Creation again, offering more unsolicited advice, denouncing the Seat's leadership anew and likening the great gift of our self-determination to reins that seek to control us as if we were intemperate mares. Your unbridled audacity is seen by all. Whatever the outcome of the elections in Ashtan, their existence are wrought by the will of the Untouched by Fire, who will not abide your meddling in his Seat.

So, my advice to you is simple: Worry more about the crushing blows that will be dealt to all those who hope, despite being driven into the dust of inanity, to maintain Order and the furtherance of Creation's stagnation. Concern yourself less about perceived turmoil in a city-state that calls you anathema to its existence and goals. Know that we embrace all upheaval, welcoming it as an old friend to take residence among us.

Change, political or otherwise, is never a problem to be solved or a diffculty to be overcome in Ashtan. It is an opportunity. When we cling to what was before, we lessen possibility. As my very wise grandfather once wrote, "All things eventually break and are replaced." The choice of whether to adapt and overcome is ours to make. This is what sets Ashtan apart and why it is chosen to draw forward an era of Chaos in which Creation's potential can be fully realized.

There is not one who aspires to leadership in Ashtan who would seek to do otherwise.
