Silas,

You stated, and I quote, "As long as Ashtan's government continues to
push its citizens into defending, supporting and assisting the Occultist
House and the Cult of Babel in their madness.."

Ashtan is a city of free people. Our government consists of officials
elected by the general populace. While it is the duty of our citizen
soldiers to defend the city and its inhabitants, it is also the right of
any citizen to forego involvement in such activities.

I am a Magi, a Warlock of the Rising Phoenix, and an aspirant to an
Order not at all aligned with Chaos. It is my right, my duty and my
immense honour to serve the Bastion in combat and to aide in defending
my fellow citizens, regardless of their affiliation with the Cult of
Babel. What if the Church decided the target of their war was to be
Magi, rather than Occultists? How would I wish for my cities leaders to
respond? Should the Occultists forsake me? Should the government oust my
fellow Magi and I?

You can argue about Chaos and Creation all you want with Lord Phaestus,
but you and many like you have grossly misunderstood what freedom really
is and hugely underestimated the bond shared between those who live
under and in support of it. What the Light opposes is the Light's
business, but when the greedy hand of the Church reaches too far North,
it is the march of free Ashtani soldiers that shakes the gates of
Shallam and her allies.

You said that as long as Ashtan's government pushes its citizens into
support of the Occultist House, the Light will oppose us. We defend,
support and assist our fellow citizens willingly and of our own
volition.

We patiently await your surrender.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Ero, in the year 565 AF.
