Darknight. Treaties. Political games.

I address this post to Ashtan,
There were Eleusians in support of this latest treaty, despite the last
two failed attempts at peace. Ashtan, you are allowing yourselves to
decay. I implore that you overthrow the dictator who parades as your
leader, who jeers and threatens during negotiations and then attacks
unarmed women to prove his manhood, yet will never be found on a
battlefield among men.
The edicts which Ashtan were built upon are no longer held by the masses
of Ashtan and the few good people that live within Ashtan are being
ignored at every turn. Today I watched as Mhaldorians were allowed to
kill Ashtan citizens based on disagreements and arguments, I watch as
your Minister of War is disregarded of his opinions or presence during
proceedings of peace offering. You are being silenced by a man who grows
fat with the lifestyle of being the owner of your city.
Chaos, mischief, oblivion, whatever your choice or your poison, you live
in Ashtan because you value your free will to act as you so choose. Yet
you do not, you are under Darknight's full and total will and whatever
he decides, whatever strokes his ego at the time, is your command.
Remember we speak of a man that wishes to negotiate peace within a
locked room containing a few of his henchmen, so that he can murder
whomever disagrees with his threatening tone.
There is a turn in the tide of warfare, let it be known and understood,
no longer are the forces of Shallam nor Eleusis to be scoffed at. The
years of bullying have honed even the youngest of cubs into zealots
eager to protect what they stand for. Mhaldor's eagerness to strengthen
the spirit through the infliction of pain have done Shallam and Eleusis
more good than harm and now they have to face the monster they have
reared. For you to think you have us by the scruff of our necks during
these proceedings would be more than foolish, pay heed to the casualties
that were suffered after Darknight's arrogance came to a head in a faux
skirmish upon Eleusis' doorstep.
Short of overthrowing Darknight, I urge wronged Ashtanites to leave the
city and embrace true freedom as a valued villager of Eleusis, where
your opinion is counted. Place Tanris as your new leader, at least that
man has honour and bravery, I can respect an enemy with a solid
character. Darknight, however, is a man made of dirt, unbefitting for
the leader of freedom, who will soon see the underside of my boot.
In all sincerity,
Agathon Corten.
