Shallam's newest vacancies

Dear, Dear Shallam, where have your leaders gone? After a century of law
re-writing, building up animosity among would-be allies and chasing away
your Patrons, the instigators of war, hypocrisy, and cowardice simply
walk away and leave you prostrate with their catastrophe.
While many... personal acquaintances of mine who reside in Shallam
remain, I have to ask myself (and perhaps others may feel the same way),
without your idiotic former leaders and their companions, are you still
the same city? Are you going to use this as an opportunity to be what
you should be, or will this void simply fill in with the next dim-witted
politician selected as the new Caliph? I'm sure many of us have our own
predictions on this, but its really up to you to recognize an
opportunity for change.
Perhaps these war-mongering scourges can finally get what they deserve
instead of bringing it down on a would-be city of peace and compassion.
Time will tell. My dirk, for one, is stayed, until the newly empowered
Shallamese leadership decides whether or not it wants to continue Silas'
legacy of preaching one thing, and living the opposite.
