Chaos and Death

Order of Death,

This conflict which you have begun, as you can see, is harming you much
more than it is harming us. We are an Order of Chaos, and we are long
accustomed to war and persecution. Your Order is fat and untested,
unused to the trials of battle, and it is showing.

We have no desire to fight you. We have many, many enemies with which we
are much more concerned than you. In the big picture, the matter of
Death and its worship has very little relevance to us and our goals.
Nevertheless, you have taken it upon yourself to antagonise us, and now
you are enduring the consequences of that choice.

Here are our terms. Meet them and we can go our separate ways. Fail to
do so and we will continue to decimate your shrines until your Order is
but a feeble shadow of itself.

First, you must acknowledge that scholars, sages, and even gods of Death
are not authorities on Chaos. None of them have any place to make
authoritative statements on what Chaos is or is not.

Second, you must acknowledge that Babel is a true god of Chaos. By doing
so, you are only agreeing with Sarapis, His creator. To insist otherwise
is utter foolishness.

Third, obviously, you must immediately cease all action against the
Order of Oblivion. Choose an enemy that is more suited to your teachings
and strengths. We suggest the gods of necromancy, or perhaps the
self-titled goddess of Life, Mithraea.

Remember that, if Babel is right, then Oblivion is inevitable and there
is nothing you can do to stop it. If, however, He is wrong, then
Oblivion is impossible and there is nothing we can do to cause it.
Consider this truth when making your decision.

Again, we are more than willing to continue slaughtering you and
destroying your shrines. However, we do not see the point of wasting our
time with Death when there are so many more important enemies to Chaos
in the lands. This is your chance to back out gracefully.

In Chaos,

The Order of Oblivion

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Mayan, in the year 498 AF.
