Achaean News
butchery, chaos, and other Church work

Hail, Sapience.
Those who act against the will of Evil apparently prefer to keep their
doings out of the public eye.
This is no wonder, when I receive correspondence of this sort. How much
murder, butchery, and Chaos will those of the Church embrace in pursuit
of Good? Your guess is as good as mine, at this point.
Narcissus, are you certain you are truly of the Church? Your complete
lack of moral compunction would be better turned to malevolent ends.
------------------------------------------------------------
Tyrannus Wulfen,
I am Narcissus Rousseau, citizen of Shallam, member of the Holy Church
of Achaea, and of the Crystalline Circle. I write to thee in response to
Public Post 17579. I choose to send a letter, rather than involving
myself with the often blatant idiocy that is the Public News Board.
You criticize the Holy Church of Achaea, pointing to instances in which
our forces stand alongside Church enemies. I shall not give you a
lackluster response, stating how we cannot control our members, or how
they acted of their own accord. Rather, I shall make a rejoinder to the
Codex of Light, the foundation of our ideals.
"Absolute, unchanging, and eternal, Good is a force spawned by Creation
which seeks always to keep Creation strong and growing."
I give thee the definition of Good, irrefutably from Lady Lorielan, Lady
Tarah, and Lord Pentharian.
In standing at arms with an enemy of the Church, repelling the forces of
Mhaldor, the Good done is greater than the Evil done by standing in
temporary alliance with an enemy of the Holy Church.
To not defend the Icon of the Sentinels is a greater disservice to Good
than fighting alongside an enemy against a mutual provocateur. I hope
that you are able to see that in standing against Mhaldor, we were
greater serving Good than not; regardless of who stands next to us.
The question is, and forever shall be, "Do the ends justify the means?"
In this case, the answer is yes. I hope this has been an edifying
letter, and you shall retain this lesson on the ideology of Good for
future reference.
Should you wish to discuss this matter further, I would certainly be
glad to speak with you of ideals and principles.
Respectfully,
Narcissus Rousseau
------------------------------------------------------------
As a postscript, yes, this lesson on Good will now be immortalized for
Sapience for all eternity. I trust you will all learn from it, as I did.

Father Wulfen
