instead, the Church and Devotion

Hail, Matriarch.
I am quite delighted you found little thought in my post. You serve to
further the example of the regrettable decline in Shallamese learning in
these latter days.
For example, in your own post, you made these points. Obviously their
incongruity escaped your attention, though I have reordered them:
Devotion is meant for Good
priests have Devotion
corrupt priests have Devotion
corrupt priests are not priests
priests serve the Light (Good)
priests serve whether they choose to or not
corrupt priests use Devotion to strengthen Evil
The floor in my scriptorium is littered with parchment. The fragments
are filled with various arrangements of these points, in my vain
attempts to order your confused attempts at thought. I will freely admit
my failure to think as a Church Prelate does, and move on.
Your questions are similarly poorly reasoned. I will say to you, as I
say to the Malefics of the Blood Congregation, that you must consider
the whole of the Seven Truths of Evil. Picking and choosing only what
will assist your argument, as mortals often do, will certainly lead you
to error.
As you are discussing Evil, I will discuss Good. Corrupt priests are
your problem. I mean specifically yours, as a Prelate of the Holy Church
of Achaea, the very sump in Good's cellar. If you, a Prelate, cannot
control the Devotion users of the realm, do not embarrass yourself by
trying to make it Evil's problem.
