Clarification

In the future, you would perhaps save yourself some trouble to ask for
clarification rather than jumping to conclusions and proceeding forward
as if your assumption was true, Mulisha. However, for the sake of
squashing any potential misunderstanding leading either from my original
post or this reply, let me first repeat the quote in full:
"We wish to ensure that if there is to be a New Thera, it would not be
affiliated with any particular alignment or city - and will belong unto
itself and as part of the global community as it always has. We would
not wish to see a New Thera created on a foundation of internal
resentment within the realms as to how She was refounded, particularly
on top of the wounds of how She was destroyed."
By this, I mean to say that Cyrene would not want to see Shallam, or any
other city or alliance of cities, rebuild that which is Thera at the
exclusion of other cities and/or the citiless if the wishes of the
Therans do not become known. I believe that to do so would risk creating
a foundation of resentment and distrust based on pre-existing biases
between cities and alignments within the realms, as well as resentments
and distrust about -how- the process unfolded. Thusly, we invite and
encourage -all- of Sapience to participate in this clan, and be involved
in the subsequent decision-making processes.
Once re-established as a village that is part of the global community,
if that is the will of the Therans or for Sapience as a whole, Thera
will always remain free to choose it's allies, as it always has been
before.
That being said, I do believe that while all of Sapience suffered a
trauma in the decimation of Thera. The Therans, of course, suffered the
ultimate cost. However, as I have previously stated innumerously in
private settings, the city of Ashtan also has my greatest sympathies and
I honour the uniquely personal and deep wound that this has been for
them due to their allied relationship with Thera. As such, I see Ashtan
as having a vital role in the clan.
With all due respect, Mulisha, your post actually risks the type of
divisive distortion that I think this process must be free from in order
for a New Thera to be refounded in a way that would ultimately be
helpful to the Therans. I highly doubt that the Therans would very much
appreciate seeing their territory used for political and philosophical
positioning by various peoples of the world especially during this time,
or for that to taint whatever might come to their home in the future. If
the Therans wish for their home village to be rebuilt, or the all of
Sapience wills it in their absense, they will be free to choose their
own political and philosophical positions based on their -own- values
and interests, as they -always- have. The issue is how do we go about
the business at hand in a manner that assures that they are best able to
do so?
I would propose that setting aside our own biases and interests and
working together for the good of the Therans - as well as towards the
healing of the psychic wound experienced by all of Sapience in the
Vertani decimation of Thera - with or without Vertani aid as is the will
of Thera or our 'all', is a good place to begin.
I do hope that is clear enough,
