Public News Post #14312

My apologies/further clarification

I am grieved to hear that my post has led to any insult what-so-ever, as
such was the opposite of my intent. The last thing I would want to do is
to add any insult to injury in regards to the losses Ashtan has suffered
in relation to the decimation of Thera. As I have stated in my two
previous posts, I recognize Thera's right to choose their allies,
before, during and after this most tragic event. I furthermore recognize
and honour Ashtan's alliance with Thera, and believe your reasoning that
the alliance is in place until cancelled by the Therans themselves is
strong and sound. My only concern and intent, therefore, is and was to
emphasize the importance of the work of this clan prioritizing the
interests of -Thera- over that of others, as well-meaning as they might
be. I believe Ashtan has a pivotal voice in that process.

In fact, when I was first approached personally about this proposal, I
advocated heartily for the inclusion of Mhaldor and Ashtan in this
process, along with the primacy of the voice of the Therans themselves.
I was not favourably disposed towards Cyrene otherwise joining the
effort. I believe that -how- this process is perhaps even more important
than -what- the final decisions come to be, in many respects. If what is
decided becomes a breeding ground for resentment because of exclusion,
it could taint whatever could be created. This has the potential to not
only assure the probability of yet more sources of conflict on Theran
land, but also interfers with our collective ability to heal from the
trauma. Personally, I would not want to support -any- effort that led to
conflict, division and resentment and would see that as worse, perhaps,
than doing nothing at all.

I do apologize for any misunderstandings caused by the apparent
vagueness of my initial post. You and your people have my greatest
personal sympathies. I can only imagine the added layers of trauma and
loss that this event caused for your people, knowing what it brought to
me personally as well as to the people of Cyrene.

Respectfully,
Beneficia
