As stated Ashtan will offer what it can to the rebuilding effort, with
the removal of the Vertani fortress the only reservation that I have
with having the Vertani involved is whether the Therans would wish it or
not. It is ultimately their home that will be rebuilt and they should
have final say in matters regarding it.. To this end we have resources,
not only in money and commodities, but also labour that we can commit to
the endeavor. Our city Architect and Blacksmith, as well as others will
be at their disposal at our expense.
As for this comment We wish to ensure that if there is to be a New
Thera, it would not be affiliated with any particular alignment or city
- and will belong unto itself and as part of the global community as it
always has, I am a bit irritated by it. The Therans are their own people
and have their own ways, who they choose to align with is their
decision. The way you stated this makes it sound as if I were some sort
of tyrant that pushed the alliance on them. Trust me when I say that no
amount of threats ever did any good when dealing with the Therans, or
with Ariel in particular. I couldve offered them reparations and just
held it there, preventing the Vertani from gaining a foothold closer to
Ashtan, but no, we continued to negotiate and came to the terms where we
both felt that the alliance would prove mutually profitable. Our
alliance with them will remain until they are the ones to declare it
null and void.
