To Ashtan

To the noble dignitaries of Ashtan: Greetings, and may all of you be in
well health even though recent accounts may prove otherwise. I am here
to address the leadership of Ashtan in regards to their war with the
Vertani. I am most certain that Ashtan is composed in its majority by
enlightened individuals as I have had the honor of speaking with some of
Asthan's citizens and although I do not heartily agree with everything
they say they have strike me as brilliant individuals. It is therefore
that I believe that Ashtan citizens have among them those who are wise
and seek to no longer be at war with the Vertani.

Hingar himself has clearly stated that his people do not wish to be or
remain at war with any of the Cities. They have also expressed their
desire to leave in peace. They only worry to protect those that are
allied to them... and who can blame them? Has not Ashtan laws to protect
its Citizens from those who would wish them harm? Has not all cities
have laws to protect its citizens from harm? It is therefore that the
Vertani also wish to protect their allies from harm and to stop the
brutal murders of such individuals. As much in the same way as any City
would protect its allies also if need be.

Some claim that Hingar and his people are out to Conquer Sapience, and I
say to the people that might be true but then again do not all cities
seek to conquer Sapience in a way? In any event IF the Vertani indeed
seek to conquer Sapience, why do they seek peace with Ashtan instead of
their outright destruction? Furthermore I have had the opportunity to
share with the Vertani. It strikes me interesting that he invited me at
one time to visit his Fortress when I decided to become Friend of the
Vertani. And only Dyzanru and me went there.

Only two of us there and we where in the 'enemies' property. Had they
wish ill will he could have destroyed us right there. "Ahhh but they
have no war with you Ixidor." You might say. Indeed. I am not. But
correct me if I am wrong, 'conquering' people do not ask questions
first. They kill then ask questions later as evidenced throughout our
history and I can quote several passages on this... but I wish not to
make this post longer. It is therefore that I hope that the people of
Ashtan seek to make peace with the Vertani. To shed away their past
relations with the Vertani. To start over from square one. And what
better way to do this then to demonstrate out of good will your desire
to put an end to this war.

Walk in Light. Ixidor Shu'in-Crassius.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Daedalan, in the year 384 AF.
