Evil and Good

Greetings, this post is in response to the ongoing posts between two
faiths. It is not really a personal attack on any one person, but rather
a way to show you based on your own comments why so many of us have
chosen to follow the one true Divine, The Malevolent One. And since you
welcomed constructive points Sander, I'm going to give it my best shot.
To end the last post on this topic with a question, demands an answer.
It has been asked if it was not logical that the more people help each
other and the less they hinder each other, the more they will advance.
Why, if this question was any more broad than it already is, I probably
wouldn't even be able to give you an answer, however here goes.
Inevitably it had to be said: Your thinking is flawed. You cannot simply
claim to seek advancement and end things there. You might attempt it,
you might even strive for it, but the real matter lies in what we are
left with when both methods are tried and tested. In the service of Lord
Sartan, we claim these things as well. We also claim to seek
advancement, we also attempt it, strive for it, but then again, none of
that matters either, until the end result is seen. For it is not the
means but the ends which justify. That is the difference between our two
faiths right there. You strive to justify the ends by the means. We
however justify our methods with our results.
Now to directly answer your question, it depends on whom is helping who,
and what they are helping them do. If you think that working hand in
hand with a group of people to HELP them start a mindless war, or if you
think that helping drug dealers pawn off their wares is advancement, I
strongly disagree. Not always can you look at things in such black and
white lines, for there are many beings out there who seek to do nothing
more than pervert the modern world with twisted ideals and false
teachings. However, in more specific instances, helping others may very
well indeed bring mutual advancement. Mutual advancement, even worldwide
advancement, first comes through an agreement of philosophy, and only
then through helping one another. If your beliefs are thought to be
damaging, or detrimental in the long run, then no, helping you would not
bring mutual advancement, instead it would leave both of us in a sorer
spot than before, with losses that might not be able to be regained.
That is a risk I am unwilling to accept. The divine gifted us with
minds, so that we could use them, and learn and grow. Those who blindly
follow an ideal without looking to consequences do themselves and their
kindred a serious disservice.
You claim that the big difference between Evil and Good is the methods
used to advance, I claim that when all is said and done, it would seem
that your methods end up not advancing you at all, and in the end, you
are left where you began. The proof is in this. I challenge you to step
up to your word, and put forth your best effort to prove your case. If
indeed you believe that the more people help each other and the less
they hinder each other, the more they will advance, then I challenge you
to prove it by gathering a group, an army even, of your countrymen and
kindred, and come to Mhaldor and HELP US SERVE LORD SARTAN. Help us and
prove to us that by so doing, you will advance both of us. If in fact
you are correct with what you say, then by helping us, you will be
helping yourself. I believe your only criteria was no hindering of one
another? Therefore, I would equally offer you the deal that while you
and yours work hard to help us serve Lord Sartan, we will not hinder you
insodoing that. IF that is, you truly believe what you have stated. Let
us now use our gifted minds to determine what the results of such an
action might be? One possible scenario is that you utterly succeed in
helping advance the cause of Evil. Would this prove you to be correct?
It would in that by following the path of Evil you will have found
success. But where would that leave you then, you would have to admit
that the truths of Evil are tried and tested to be inarguably effective.
What if you failed? What if you made a serious attempt to help advance
the cause of Evil and you failed? That alone would disprove your theory
that simply helping others will advance you. No, the truth of the matter
is you do not believe what you said in your last post. You do not
support the cause of Evil, therefore you would not help work WITH Evil,
this I already know. Your logic is weak, your arguments are so general
and broad they could be applied to just about any faith, in fact, I
haven't found one iota of what you have said to be of any distinctive
value in determining what it is that you believe in.
You said you believe in advancing the world? That you wish the whole
entire world to advance, because you care for all living things? How is
this different than teachings of Evil? I too care for all living things,
I too wish for the entire world to advance past the point that it now
resides in. It is simply that. Not just Mhaldor, not just the Maldaathi,
but the whole world. And in my quest to do so I have found one divine
that has dedicated his whole following to just that, the means to
advance my world into the next era and beyond. But, now you might be
thinking, if that is so Vasool, why is it that the Maldaathi kill others
and war with others? Well, why is it that you would not allow an
intruder into your home or guildhall? Would you not kill such a person?
What if I came to Shallam and brought an army and laid waste to that
city, would you not fight against that? Yes, you would. Because you
don't believe in that part of what you said either. You think exactly
like a Maldaathi in your views. You think, well, if they're not with me,
or nuetral to me, then they're against me. Would you use the First truth
in your defense? Yes, you would, through the disciplining of your
troops, and with the pain that lax behaviour brings, you would actually
become a living embodiment of the first truth just to defend yourself.
It's funny really, when it comes down to your life being at stake how
easily you will adopt the principals of Evil to your own cause.
I simply point to nature to prove the second truth of Evil. Survival of
the fittest it has been called. Well, if in nature it is proven to work,
then I suppose it doesn't need arguing here, the facts are everywhere to
be seen. The second truth has already proven itself true.
The third truth of Evil, the elimination of weakness in all it's forms,
I dare you to argue a point against that. If you believe that weakness
should remain, that it should be accepted, and be given a chance to
populate and become the norm, if you truly wish for your society to
tolerate mental weakness, spiritual weakness, and physical weakness, I
would offer you a challenge here as well. Lay down your arms, put forth
your weak, be they spiritually weak, or just feebleminded, or even
physically weak. If you didn't seek to eliminate weakness in all it's
forms you wouldn't exist. The fact is your church exists to strengthen
weak spirits, your skills exist to strengthen weak bodies, and your
teachings exist to strengthen weak minds. You also follow the third
truth of Evil to a tee, the way I see things, at least, you attempt to
follow it. Your success is another matter.
As to the fourth truth of Evil, I believe your faith teaches that
forgiveness does not end up poisoning you, and that forgiveness should
be trumpeted, if I am not mistaken. If you were to truthfully argue
against the fourth truth of Evil, I challenge you to unenemy every
single servant of Evil from your city, your guild, your order, your
clans, anything. Simply forgive us our transgressions if you trumpet
such values. I will see if I get unenemied if you really truthfully
don't agree with the fourth truth of evil. In addition to that, you
would be arguing also that tolerance is ok, and that laxity of
discipline is ok. Since you have already spoken that you teach
discipline among your ranks that would leave tolerance, and no I haven't
found you and yours yet to tolerate Evil as a viable institution for
advancing life as we know it. In fact, the way I see it, you also
practice the fourth truth as well.
The fifth truth of Evil, the body may be made stronger through combat,
those who claim they are on the side of Good have proven that they too
believe in this precept.
I could go on and on, but in so many ways you model what you do after
the seven truths. Everything I see is a copy, that has been twisted,
perverted, and set on a course for failure. I personally respect you as
an individual, and I don't think you are yet lost and without hope, you
still hold many values that I deem honourable and worthy. Many of you
have courage to face your enemies in a dual, I have witnessed this
personally over the years. That is an admirable trait. Many of you are
Chivalrous, just as the Maldaathi code of chivalry has instilled that
value within me. You see, the term evil has a negative Connotation, and
all a connotation consists of is simply what the people of the time give
value to it, but it's true denotation, which is the actual definition
that we rally under, that we support, the denotation of Evil is in the
seven truths, and it's in those 7 simple, and easy to understand truths,
that we mirror our actions upon, and seed to better this world to a
state of true sentients. I am merely trying to point out the blindness
within the church. You hail the rhetoric of what you deem good to be,
and yet you unknowingly succeed at a few things and inso doing it is
found that those things which you have succeeded at have all been
modeled after the seven truths and not that of your own faith.
Perhaps you don't see things as I do, but that is why I call it
blindness. I simply see what is there. Sometimes it takes an outsider to
show us our true natures. You too are Evil, at least, you are on the
beginnings of that path in much of your actions, but if you continue to
deny this, and fight against the truths that you've known to be proven,
it will only serve to destroy you in the end. So I do care, I am telling
you this now to give you a chance to really live for the first time. To
taste what true wisdom and strength is. If you are willing, if you are
just willing to take a risk, and do something that you have had inside
of you for a long time brewing, you can change everything wrong in your
life right now. It all starts with acceptance of the facts. The choice
is yours..... However, there are those who fight against the cause of
Evil, and seek to "hinder" it. And I strongly believe in bettering this
world, I would die for my faith because I have seen the embetterment of
so many lives. I have seen a god face an entire team of opposing gods
and live to rule another day, and I have seen a scattered tribe of but a
few, just a handful of less than a dozen people, and less than a century
later we have spawned an entire kingdom. All the while fighting what
seemed impossible odds from a world of opposition. For this reason I
believe, because I know it is true with my own eyes I have seen the ends
justify the means. However I cannot say the same about your people, I
have not seen the same miracles happen, the same wonders worked. You
mustn't willingly blind yourself any longer. I know there are many of
you that are scared, but inside you know what the right thing to do is.
So I am going to give this opportunity that if anyone would like to meet
with me privately and learn more on how to know Evil for the truth that
it stands for, I will accept your TELLS with honour, and I will secretly
meet with you and help you begin on the path to a better future. I can't
send a tell to you, you are going to have to prove to the world that you
have courage, prove to yourself, and make that first step. Don't waste
another day of your life. It is not too late for many of you.
May you walk with honour and strength in His truths,
