Evil and Good

Thank you for the thoughtfull responce. And the fact that I adressed my
previous post to Karvax and this to you only means I am replying to
his/your post, but I really like to hear any comments from anybody as
long as they are constructive like yours. I will try to answer to your
points now.

First, yes, I know Karvax mostly tried to clear some things about the
Seven Truths. But at the same time I have a felt that one shold not let
aside the fact that not only Evil is about advancement.

Now to the point. Yes, Good is also about advancement, including
self-advancement, but more importantly the Growth all over the world.
You say that you in the Maldaathi help each other. It is indeed a good
point, but does it really change your attitude to beings outside your
guild/city? Will I be right saying that your guild/city al a whole tries
to advance by means of lifes of others? Or correct me if no.

And yes, we completely agree on the point that the big difference
between Evil and Good is in the methods of the advancement. But I never
said laxity of discipline is the method we use. For example, one of the
priests's tenets is Order. As for me, it is not how members of the
organisation you are in are treated, that makes the main difference. But
how you deal with those who are not in your organisation is what
matters. If an organisation tries to advance while inhibiting the Growth
of innocents, it is Evil. If its ideal is in promoting the Growth all
over the world, it is Good. I hope everybody will agree with this, this
statement is simply a fact constatation, with no evaluation. Evil
organisations will be actively hunting innocent villagers all over this
world, thus advancing at the cost of their lives; Good will never do it,
because they care for the prosperity of sentient life all over the
world.

Why I think Good to be a better way of advancement? Of course I could
appeal to conscience and say you should respect the rights of everybody,
but that would lead this discussion to a dead point, because you call
conscience a weakness. What I want to say is that Good has logic in it.
The advancement of others can help you advance. I would say that an
ideally Evil person would not care at all for others, he would be
advancing on his own, but it is obvious such an advancement has its
limit. You can't keep growing if everybody is against you. Thus there
are communities, that can be helping each other but still do not care
for the advancement of others (you gave the Maldaathi guild as an
example of this). By this you are already closer to Good than that
imaginary person.

But even the Evil followers find it logically to unite in a community
that helps each other, is not it logical to conclude that the more
people help each other and the less they hinder each other, the better
they can advance?

Sander.
