My dear Niece,
It is good to see that You have returned from Your journey in such fine
health. I'm sorry to hear that You were unable to discover anything of
Your father, the War God, during Your absence. It seems You've blossomed
into a beautiful Goddess though...
It has come to My attention that certain citizens of Your city seem to
think that I desire to be associated with it simply because I have
designs on Your position therein. Let Me assure You, darling, that I
have no desire to be patron of Ashtan.
When I approached the Archons expressing My desire to be their city
patron, I did so because several citizens of the Bastion relayed to Me
their dismay at Your seeming inactivity and the absence of potent Divine
Powers within the city walls.
Now then, mortals and immortals alike know that I am exceedingly
benevolent to those whom I patron. Thus I understood perfectly well why
they would approach Me asking for My patronage.
Now that You have returned in all Your magnificent glory, I am content
to remain in the Shadows...
When might I meet with You to discuss the matter of My "association with
Ashtan" further?
In Darkness,
Uncle Twilight
Penned by my hand on the 10th of Sarapin, in the year 357 AF.
