Penrynn,
First let's mention the fact you aren't a Jester, second let's mention
that you have no ties besides that of family to the Jester's guild, and
thirdly, let's mention that you left of your own free will, you CHOSE
not to be a Jester anymore.
Now let's talk about your post.
1) 'It seems to me there is a group within the Guild who, given the
choice
to support the GM or kill the Guild, would go for the latter option.' -
If the GM is NOT doing his or her job correctly and making bad
decisions, why would you support them? Bad leadership in and of itself
will 'kill' a guild, and those willing to stand up and point it out are
the ones that are tearing the guild apart? Why? Because they are
unwilling to be a part of bad leadership? because they feel that change
of leadership will help the guild?
2) 'Recently you went through another election, called by those who
still
can't accept that Mendax lost the election to Rishado.' That was NOT
even an issue into why Rosalinn was contested by Kiella and myself.
Rosalinn was contested because there were problems with the way she
chose to run the guild and the decisions she made. And by the way, how
long was Rishado GM of the Jesters? I can tell you it was for a rather
short period of time. In fact, Myranda too was GM for a short period of
time, her case is different because she chose to step down. It is
obvious that people within the guild feel that Rosalinn is not
qualified, because I will be happy to point out the vote was NOT
unanimous for her. It says something that while as her short stint as GM
that she has been contested twice now.
3) 'If you are considering standing against my daughter Rosalinn once
again, I urge you to consider more than your personal goals and any
prejudices you still have, and work together to heal your guild rather
than doing your best to tear it apart (again). If you can't work for the
good of the Guild rather than for your own political ends, then, really,
you shouldn't be in the Guild.' So what are you trying to say? Because
Rosalinn's personal prejudices/problems with me led her to kick me out
of the Head of Novices position. Even though I had all the
qualifications and was doing my job correctly, my only crime was the
fact that I did not agree with her suggested guild policies on that of
the probation system (oh and the fact that I went against the succession
of Rosalinn and also contested Myranda when she chose to step down).
With as unsturdy as our guild is at this time there is BOUND to be some
inguild discussion and fighting about what is best for the guild,
especially when people have opposing views. It would also help if
Rosalinn actually listened to proposals and ideas, insteading of
dismissing them automatically. But I digress. Let me say this to you,
Penrynn, you aren't a Jester and while you may know some of what is
going on in our guild you do NOT know all of it. And to presume that you
know how those of us 'against' Rosalinn feel, only makes you look
ignorant. You claim that we have our own political agendas and that we
are bringing our personal goals into it. I know what I am in it for, I
am in it to hear the laughter and be the chaos that is what we are. We
have the potential, all we need is the right leadership. That kind of
leadership hasn't been found yet.
4) 'If you must fight an election then please remember, I will fight you
however much I like you, because you are killing the Guild I love. Think
on it.' Elections are about fighting, elections are about CHANGE, I want
to point that out to you. And I am glad you are willing to fight, but
since when is the Jester's guild problems your concern? I don't see
elections as killing guilds, I see them stregthen whether it be the kick
in the butt the GM needs to fix their leadership or new leadership that
works on guild issues the old one hadn't. Granted it doesn't always go
that way, but I refuse to be so pessimistic about the future.
So basically, Penrynn shut your mouth. You can claim to love the Jesters
guild, but what have you done for it lately?
