Covenant,

A common definition for 'extortion' would be the following: "An
exorbitant charge, usually from a person in a place of authority".
Floralei when she offered Tybalt the deal to stop exterminating was just
a citizen of Mhaldor with no ties to Eleusis or any of the forestal
guilds. The only possible organization she could have been representing
would be Oakstone, and she holds no authority in it. She asked Tybalt
out of her own love for your forests to stop exterminating and gave him
incentive not to. That's a heck of a lot more than -you've- done to try
and save your precious trees. Also, while we're on the subject, your
analogy to Mhaldor paying those who slay our guards is irrelevant due to
the fact that you are talking about a singular person in Floralei,
acting out of her own intrest, not an organization of individuals.

outr sileris
apply sileris for Tybalt just being a 'blip' historically...that's true
for the most part. He's no Andelas or Dalamar, or even Samadhi, who just
recently turned eleven or so groves to ash in a single month. Do you
stop to think though about -why- some Necromancers choose to exterminate
the forests? Perhaps if you explore that and stop handing out forest
enemyings for the silliest of reasons, you might see a drop in those
willing to go to war with you. Take me for example. I'm a rogue mage who
resides in Mhaldor. I don't like Oakstone and haven't since the time
Elsp was a Hierophant because I think it's a completely unfair
organization that doesn't represent itself very well. Of course, that
being said, many people probably feel the same way, they just don't want
to go without herbs or vials. You can state that you 'don't have to'
refill vials or sell herbs all you want, but you and I both know that's
a lie that would make Lord Twilight most proud. Without the threat of
losing the means to hunt, fight, and do many other aggressive pasttimes,
Oakstone and the Forest at large would face more dangers than at
present. Of the few that either hate Oakstone enough to go against them,
or, like me, don't care about either death or loss of healing supplies,
there will always be a threat, be it large or small, Necromancer or
'assister'. So, in short, keep selling those Concoction products, it's
the only thing protecting you.
