Hail, to all the people of Achaea.
I am posting this to speak on a somewhat troubling matter that has been
bothering me for years. Perhaps you will agree with me, perhaps not, but
I humbly request that you at least hear me out, as it is something that
in many ways affects everyone in any guild, city, and especially Divine
Order.
What I am speaking about it a respect and honour for the Divine. I mean
each and every Divine, regardless of whether your personal code complies
with theirs or not. I myself am a Sartanite, and am more than proud to
be so, and, consequently, find that many of the views I hold in my
personal ambitions conflict greatly with most of the Other Divine. My
loyalty is forever unquestionably to Lord Sartan, and I will serve Him
until the day I die.
However, I do not presume my worthless mortal self to be in any position
to challenge, threaten, mock or otherwise disrespect any other Divine.
Though I have warred against them in battle, may I never dishonour
myself by treating any of the Gods with insolence or arrogance.
I bring this up becuase I constantly experience mortals of these lands,
of each and every walk of life, be it evil, righteousness, knowledge, or
anything else, who presume that for some reason they -do- have the right
to speak thusly to one of the Gods. And perhaps you think me wrong in
expressing this view, but I would urge everyone to consider this. I do
not speak thusly to judge, or to impress my view on any. Only to say
that there is a very big difference between a mortal and a Divine.
Perhaps you may speak viciously of one another, threaten and demand of
each other... but a God is a different matter entirely.
Thus, I beseech you, people of Achaea, to be mindful of this. I
personally believe that one who seeks to insult or injur one of our
Divine only succeeds in making himself look like the worst kind of
fool... but my personal opinion aside, it is highly dishonourable and
disrespectful to treat a Divine as if they were just another mortal.
I will close by saying that there are Gods with whom I disagree with,
and whom I consider enemies. But that does not mean I cannot have the
highest respect for Them. I hope that you will all think about this,
even if you do not agree.
And I say this -not- becuase my Divine Patron has been attacked... In
truth, I believe no mortal's words or actions, no matter how insolent
they may be, can come near to threatening the Lord of Evil, or any other
of the Divine. I say it becuase it is irksome when -any- of the Divine
are treated thusly, I honestly do hope that we mortals could treat our
Gods with the respect they deserve.
Speaking to you as a mere mortal follower of the Divine,
Brynna D'Ange, Angel's Sorrow.
Penned by my hand on the 20th of Lupar, in the year 330 AF.
