Two poems

The following are two poems that I wrote with you in mind, Grandmother.
I am happy to see you among these lands again.

-----

The warrior stood
Conflict inside her
Death and Destruction
Sorrow and Frailty
Love and Longing
Want and Need
All playing upon her mind
All preying upon her soul

-----

My mind runds wild
With the thoughts of the pack
Eyes glimmering darkly
Yellow in their depths
The pounding of soft pawprints
Echoing in my heart
My nails forming claws
To gouge the earth in the chase
Running under the moonlight
Amusement and triumph of life
In my voice
Lifted in a song to the stars
The howl of the Wolfsong
Echoes back at me from Others
Hearing their song, the same but different
My spirit lifts and grins
Toothily at you, fangs gleaming
In laughter
As my Human eyes smile
Secrets in them that would be shared
If only you sing too.

Let not my skin tell of my Nature.
My eyes are the windows to my worlds.
Enter if thou must. Beware of the Beast.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Aeguary, in the year 288 AF.
