Words unbound, with apology

I can't say I'm sorry, for holding my belief
I can't say I'm sorry, for being who I am.
I can say I'm sorry for causing you grief
And for any hurt it was unintended, I can.

Through years I denied my own self for too long,
For too long I denied the truth about me.
No longer am I silent, I sing my own song,
But I'm sorry I caused grief to thee.

For causing hurt to a friend, I can wish that I'd never,
Never spoken out, or just let things be,
For a pain never meant, I could apologise for ever,
For words can cause grief, as well as set free.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Aeguary, in the year 288 AF.
