No Thanks

Once, only once I dreamed
Of starting something called a family
Then I watch these pairs striding
What effort I wasted for these findings:

A child may be grand
The experiance that nothing else, to it can stand
I'd rather stay childless and keep my hips
For if I had them--I'd need to wield whips

What else to do when they ask for gold?
With a crack, I'd say: 'Do as your told,
Break your own pack, and earn your own gold'.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Daedalan, in the year 508 AF.
