I write this with a trembling hand
My mind not quite all there
My grief overcoming the senses I command
And so I wander to all places but nowhere

I took something I held so precious and dear
And I crushed its fragile heart
Her tears enough to end my anger and fear
And make me rethink the life I have part

Past the hurt and immense pain
I still remember the smiles and happiness
And even if her love for me fades and wanes
I would still love her, as a mother should, no less

Life presents us all with the hardships and trials
It never comes in pristine packages all tied and neat
The best we can do is show our grit and smiles
And hope for the best despite our defeat

And so I beg for all around me to hear
As I say what I have to say
Forgive one another, despite sadness and fear
Love one another instead with all of your heart
Cry tears of joy and sadness together, not apart
And soon it will be a much happier day...
