An ode to poetry,
that's what this be.
That annoying news section
I'd rather not read.

Whenever I feel
like perusing the news,
I thank the Divine
that I can choose...

Which sections to read
and which to ignore,
because most of the time,
these poems are a bore.

If not a bore,
then they must be about
someone's pitiful life,
or problems they can't work out.

Or a fight with a spouse?
Who's to say...
I'd rather not hear,
either way.

So this is my lament,
and now that I'm through--
mayhap I'll might read poetry more often...
