Wellspring or Wellwinter?

To the council of Hashan,

Recently, I awoke to find my connection to the Wellspring severed. Though it was not unexpected, I cannot help but feel a bit disappointed in the place that was once my home. Under the banner of Progress, we used to celebrate mortal agency and innovation, and we understood that good ideas can come from anywhere and anyone - regardless of city affiliation.

Had I raised my hand against Hashani, or wielded Sublimation against the Court of Shadows then I wouldn't be penning this. However, the crime that earned this punishment was not an act of aggression against your city; it was the simple act of turning Rians into puddles of angry flesh. This is not only one of Sapience's most popular pastimes, it is a valuable contribution to scientific discourse.

In just thirty minutes of wielding the power of the Wellspring, I proved the most deadly Sublimation alchemist of recent decades and also established myself as an expert in the field of converting followers of the Lord Neraeos - Whose domain is the Big Liquid - into portions of Small Liquid. The Court must realise that advances in this discipline will pay dividends for all of mortalkind in the coming years.

Therefore I propose that you reverse my severing and enemy status and in exchange I will continue to do what I do best. You can be assured that my Cyrenian test subjects will submit detailed reports of my experimentation to you, and the only job of Hashani academicians will be to collate and filter through the emotionally-charged diatribe to find the facts beneath.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Sarapin, in the year 1000 AF.
