Manifesto of Mortal Will

Hereby do I swear, by the blessing of the Logos upon all things, by the strength of my hands, and by the fire in my soul.
- - -
The thalassans see kindness and respond with violence. They hear reason and respond with madness. They are shown truth, and twist out of it lies.
Like a cancer, they seeks to grow until they cover everything, consume everything, and answer to no morals, no shame, and no honor.
From the depths flows their insanity and their evil, which the sentient world should not abide for fear of subjugation, desolation, and destruction.
If you would see this world a place where you may live by your own decisions, and stand by your own will, you must oppose this tide of madness.
Increasingly it becomes the foremost threat encroaching upon the world.
Set aside your differences and join hands to build the wavebreaker and the dam before each love is drowned and every home is lost to brine.
Let no poison fill your ears, and no doubts cloud your mind.
There will be plenty of time for settling petty differences later.
I find before me two choices: abandon, or fight.
I will not be pawn nor puppet to any force, great or small, and would rather cease being than become this.
I choose to fight until I can no longer.
Let each mortal's heart and soul be their castle, upon which no force may encroach.
- - -
A word for the sea first:
Long have I been named insulting and disrespectful by Thalassans while I have been freely slandered and insulted myself.
As you are not deserving of the respect you so clamor for, which you have yet to earn, I will henceforth begin to better you by turning your lies into truth.
I shall from now on cease being as polite as I have in the face of your abuse, and show you what insults truly feel like.
Do not worry, as you are undoubtedly not used to the ways of the landwalkers, I am certain you will not catch most of them, but I will make sure you obtain ample experience.
- - -
Hear me now!
By my Will, I bind myself to War!
Long have I been named enemy to Cyrene by the Sealord. I echo now my enmity against the entirety of Thalassa, a vendetta upon its leaders and its servants alike, and all its components.
To Lord Vastar, the Elder, the Skylord, the All-Seeing One, Lord of the Firmament, the Crucible, the Shaping Storm, do I dedicate my hammer arm, should He find it worthy.
For the pursuit of sea-born enemies, both His and mine, the destruction of their effigies, the repudiation of their authority, the purging of their presence and the frustration of their efforts shall I strive by Hammer and by Word.
And even should He look upon me with disdain, I shall not be deterred.
- - -
By my Will, I bind myself to Truth!
Before their corruption by the Tyrant Sealord Neraeos and His bootlickers, the Cyrenian Oaths that all citizens - high or low - needed to and did swear, through the Tables and Laws of the City and the Pillars of Silver and Steel, demanded many things that were broken.
The highest of these demands was this:
"Absolute sovereignty over the mountain home, and tolerance of no threats to its independence, from within its walls or abroad.
To stand unwavering against those who seek their ends by sword and shackle, and who would threaten the world through wanton destruction and oppressive zealotry."
These are Oaths all who were Cyrenian swore, and what they guarded against is what took root within the city's walls at the hands of the Tyrant and His servants: Thalassa entire.
By these Oaths do I name the occupation of Cyrene illegal.
By these Oaths do I name any vote that enabled it null, and outside of the law of the land.
By these Oaths do I deny the legality of the authority that Thalassa claims to hold over the city, and reject its incorporation into Empire.
By these Oaths do I truthfully name any member of Cyrene who supported and enabled this illegal change a traitor, and any member of Cyrene who does not now stand in opposition of the illegal occupation to be in violation of their Oaths.
- - -
By my Will, I bind myself to Future!
I hear the bastards of Phocia openly decry the existence of a Cyrene-in-Exile.
I do not know of any such thing, but as that seems to hit pretty close to home for me, I find myself now eager to provide it for them.
Should you support the idea of a Free Cyrene;
Should you want to see the servants of the tide shove off along with the sea horse they rode in on;
Should you be citizen, outcast, or sympathetic part of another city;
Should you stand for truth rather than bastard lie, for freedom, and for a future in which you can make your own choices;
Reach out to me, and together we can begin to make ready. Do so in secret if you must. We can begin to build where they would rather tear down.
We can lead by example, and act, and show there is still Strength, and Honor, and Duty, and Truth, and Kindness, and Wisdom, and Humility, and a Dauntless bloody Fury still left in the blood coursing through these veins!
We can build a beacon around which to gather, not by the strength of the abstractions of some lofty realm or idea, but by our own choices, our own devotion and responsibility to each other, and ourselves.
Here is the truth about the Sea: It is cold, it is dark, and it is transparent.
It froths with rage upon the rocks, but as the tide rolls in, it must always eventually return to where it came from.
Do not worry about Divine Tyrants. Surely there must be a Divine out there that would smile upon us. And if there is not, then we will go down smiling ourselves just the same. Fight together, fight alone, with words or swords, loud or silent, but fight.
Peace in our hearts, and War upon the enemy!
