20.3 Building a House

(See also: HELP HOUSING SUMMARY for an overview, HELP HOUSING UPGRADES,
           HELP PERMISSIONS, and HELP DEVELOPMENT)

Houses and Rooms: No Sale or Transfer
-------------------------------------
Houses may not be sold, transferred, or traded in, although the individual
rooms may be destroyed and some value may be recaptured in that way.
Destroying the rooms and doors of a house returns approximately half credit.

Plots may not be sold if they have houses on them.

In the Delos Property Office - Individuals
------------------------------------------
BUY ROOM - 200 wood and 100 stone comms.

It also takes but a single room credit to buy a door for your house.

BUY ROOM AS GIFT FOR <person>

In the Delos Property Office - Organisations (Houses, Cities, and Orders)

While anywhere
--------------
PLOTS OWNED
  - Shows you a list of plots you own.

While in a subdivision in a city
--------------------------------
PLOTS
  - Shows you a list of all plots for sale in that subdivision. It provides
the coordinates for a plot, the price, and the seller. Note that if the
seller is listed merely as '-' then the seller is the city that owns the
    subdivision.

PLOT INFO
  - Shows you how much the plot is going for, and who the seller is. If it is
unowned, it means it is a virgin plot, being sold by the city.

PLOT BUY
  - Purchase the plot for yourself.
  - The price is variable, depending on what the city has set it as.

PLOT PRICE <price in gold>

one room, and will be owned by you.
  - You must have 10 room credits to do this.
  - You will be told what the number of your house is.
  - An 'in' exit will be created to the first room of your house. That exit
    may not be destroyed.
  - While your house is owned by you, the subdivision is under the
jurisdiction of the city it is in. Be aware that the city may regulate
access to the subdivision, and therefore, your house.
  - Org-owned houses may be created only in ship cabins at this time.

HOUSING CREATE FOR org
  - Creates a house from your location, leading 'in'. The house will have
one room, and will be owned by the org, of which you must be the
Divine Patron or the mortal leader or Order head.
  - It costs 10 room credits to do this.
  - You will be told what the number of the house is.
  - An 'in' exit will be created to the first room of the house. That exit
    may not be destroyed.
  - Org-owned houses may be created only in ship cabins at this time, with the
    exception of clan housing.

Out of Subdivision Houses
-------------------------
Building costs related to housing (rooms and doors) in out of subdivision
houses cost twice as much, per room as in-subdivision houses. Upgrades cost
the same as in subdivision houses.

Ships' Cabins
-------------
All costs related to housing (rooms, upgrades, etc) in ships' cabins are
doubled, this is per room or upgrade.

The limit to the number of rooms that may be added in a ship's cabin, relates
to the size of the ship, 1 to 1. So a ship of size 2, such as a Windcutter,
can have a 2-room cabin expansion. A ship of size 5, such as a Seastrider,
can have a 5-room cabin expansion.
