Musical Clan

I already posted about this on the ads, but no one ever seems to read
them anyway, so I am posting here as well, and my reasoning to the
people that have told me I'm an idiot, fool, would never work, etc.

We all know what Achaea is right now, strife over important issues, and
strife over petty ones, warriors and merchants, politics and
communities, covering many aspects of everyday life... but not all.

The one thing Achaea seems to be devoid of completely is music. A world
without music... that's a little sad. Now, of course you are wondering,
what is the point of music when we can't even really hear it? Music
isn't about just little tunes and hums, its about words, and expressing
emotion, just as is art, and music in its own right is an art.

Music can express many emotions... it can help you get to sleep,
listening to it may have you fall in love with another, it displays
common feelings toward the world, and most of all, it makes you think.
What is sad music to one is joyful to another. Music is a binding force,
and everything moves in harmony in the world, just as with music...
drifting sometimes, sometimes on a set course, often times notes clash
and combine, new stranger sounds being produced...

Now why hasn't anyone thought of this before? The only music we hear
very often is music in dreams, music when a Divinity speaks or appears,
and music in certain locations, who knows where it comes from. People
have the ability to create music... knowingly or not. As an army passes,
boots are heard slamming on the ground and in puddles, when organized,
producing a rythym,
STAMP-STAMP-SPLASH,STAMP-STAMP-STAMP-SPLASH,STAMP-STAMP-SPLASH, etc.
When you hear bird flying across the open sky, they chirp happily,
lifting wonders and imaginations. If you listen closely, even a pebble
landing in water produces music, flowing outward and making tiny noises
as the ripples meet obstacles, sometimes each other... but these things
are all to subtle for our busy minds, you need to be calm, almost
meditating to hear the beat. We need to share this with the world, those
who can hear it, and use our expressions to fill in the blanks.

So I ask for any help in forming the clan I can get.

It is not about your thoughts, but your feelings; not about your words,
but your thoughts... therefore, it will not be something that expresses
how you feel you are superior or something. We may have people singing
about Light or Darkness, though it is not what I wish, but we will NOT
have people singing about how one is better than the other. This is not
to cause arguments. It is to express ourselves in ways other than wars.
Too, we will not just be singing about how we feel, about birds and
flowers, or the grace of combat, we will also sing of things past and
future, things of now and then. We can make up stories and put them into
poetry, we can sing of the history... music stays in the minds of
children more often then words, so easily forgotten. We could sing of
the love of Catarin and Lucaine, and how they could never truly express
how they felt to one another, of how we of Sapience bravely defended
that which is ours against the coming of the Black Wave.

Once again, there are no true restrictions to joining... I don't like
Chaos or Darkness, but my feelings should not bar the flow of music, and
anyone can join, unless they have done something truly disrepectful.
There will likely be city orchestras or quires or choruses or bands, a
small fee for the hiring of a bard or harper at a special event, and a
larger one for the entire thing coming, too, on truly special occasions,
one could hire all of the city bands to come together at once and sing
or play, but this would cost more, a still reasonable price. The reason
we would ask for money is not only because people have their own
schedules and can't always be at one's beck and whim, but because by
helping the clan grow we can save up for things... perhaps we could
eventually save up for 300 credits to buy a musichall, which would be
placed in Delos probably, free of political stance, and every 100 after
that we could add another room to it, practicing rooms and official
rooms for concerts, and perhaps every 5 or 10 years an album could be
added to a shop inside with collections of our best songs.

If you don't want to help, its your loss because we will not be able to
play for you for a longer time, and if you don't wish to join, you will
not make music, but you will certainly hear it regardless.

Music is a great force, whether you believe it or not... it can make you
cry. It can make you laugh. It make you stronger in spirit. It can give
you back long-forgotten memories.

So I would ask of all Achaeans to lend me a hand in crafting together
for this land a gathering of music. I cannot do it all by myself, and if
Achaea truly did not help at all it would never be complete, and I would
also see no reason why it needed to be, if simply on one cared. Please,
don't forsake this land of music, for it will be at the loss of Achaea,
a much more magical place with it, and a much less magical place without
it.

Notes rising, notes falling, harmony, unison, joy, sadness... love.
