Dear Oakstone,
Four times Silverstorm has posted exactly what the order of Twilight
intends for the Darkenwood. The first times you did not respond, but now
finally she gets an answer, sort of. You stated that you rejected her
proposal, but pray tell, what part of the proposal do you reject? If you
posted that, I think it might be enlightning. Now for my peosonal
interpretation.
These are the issues that I see as potential probelms in this issue.
First, Silverstorm proposed that all issues involving The Darkenwood for
which there is not all ready an existing protocal should be delt with by
a council consisting of one half Twilighters and one half Oakstoners. As
of this point issues involving any other forest have been the sole
responsibility of the council of Oakstone. this is perhaps difficult for
Oakstone for two reasons. First, many of nature's gardians and
protectors honestly believe that the followers of lord Twilight do not
put the best interests of the Darkenwood first. Second, it is natural
for any animal to be teritorial, and the Oakstoners may feel that the
Twilighters have invaded their home, so to speak.
The second term of the proposal that Oakstone may have an issue with is
the wormholes. Wormholes previously had to be approved by the council of
Oakstone. The proposal related by Silverstorm stated that members of the
order of Twilight would be able to create wormholes without the approval
of the council at Oakstone. I personally don't see this as that much of
a problem. Either side could flex a little bit on this issue I think.
The final term is I think the most volitile. This term would make
harvesting in the Darkenwood illegal for any Druid or Sentinel that is
not also a member of the order of Twilight. This issue I think is kept
very much in the background. I don't think that anyone wants to talk
about it much. Let's face facts though. Money runs the world. The Druids
and Sentinels are protectors of the forests, but they are also
oppertunists that use their knowledge of harvesting techniques to make
ends meat and in alot of cases get rich. I certainly don't blame them
for it. I only wish that my skills at enchantment were half as
lucrative. Yes, it is true that the piece of harvestable land in
question is quite small and it would never have come into existence with
out Lord Twilight's creation of it, but you are attacking their pocket
books.
In this post I have attempted to put my personal bias aside and write
from the point of view of a member of Oakstone. I personally think that
the proposal of the Order of Twilight was quite reasonable and should
have been accepted, but it was not. If the council of Oakstone really
wishes to have this matter resolved I suggest that they post publicly so
that there can be no misunderstanding first the issues in Silverstorm's
post that are troublesome and secondly, a counter proposal. If Oakstone
is not willing to do this then I think you will quickly find the rest of
Achaea turning against you. If only to get this long disscussion over
with.
Your always,
